Went through the selection process ourselves and ended up with Samsung for 'er in doors and Sony for myself. Both are excellent pieces of kit but find that the Sony screen tends to be a tad better at displaying photos but my eye sight could be better as has been stated numerous times on SVs. ;)

Check out some refurbished deals on the Argos site. Can save a shed load on such a package and all with warranty. For piece of mind if u buy via e-Bay go with a reputable seller who has a good record.

eg:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sony-Xperia-Z2-10-1-Tablet-SGP521-16GB-WiFi-4G-LTE-Unlocked-Android-5-1-/171726833602?hash=item27fbb787c2:g:vnMAAOSwLN5WhQGP

Personally wouldn't touch a private seller on anything technical.

Best of luck.

Cheers for all that guys
I have been leaning towards a Samsung A (E ? ) at Currys PC World which was reduced from £170 to about £115 before Xmas
Went back in Jan and they've sold out - nearest one they had was in Llandudno !
Thoughts on that model anyone ?

If they had anything about them they would have offered to get it for you from the other branch like other retailers do these days otherwise what's the point in telling you that its available elsewhere.... :?: :?: :?:

Typical Currys PC World....

I was going to get one, before I got my 10.1 pro, best price was at argos, £134.99, (don't know why an ipad was mentioned when you were specific regarding budget)

I got a Samsung Galaxy S with the Amalod display which is a much better display than an LCD display. It is a little over budget, but if you can stretch it is worth it. I *THINK* it is this one:

...but there are so many versions, it's hard to tell! I've got the one with finger print recognition which is useful. The one linked to is £265, the one I bought was a bit over £300 a year ago.

We've got a Hipstreet Titan 4, came free with Mrs A's phone. Problem is, with both of us having smartphones, it sits on the lounge table and virtually never gets used! Good job it was free or it'd be a waste of money. No idea about the fuctionality on it, due to lack of use. Only had to recharge once since early December though!

Amazon Fire does the job for me, especially for keeping in touch with the world when hitting the far flung.

Almost time for another exped. :)

Nice idea Keith, but since it came with Mrs A's phone, it's hers to sell, and I don't see that happening at present.
