Barkhuizen scored one on Tuesday so must have been confident.

Captain Murphy has a great penalty record with his previous clubs.

Mullin is the penalty taker, If he's not on the pitch then it's Dunn. Tommy B is 3rd in line. Also he had just had a knock and was limping.... Were the reason's give by JB and KM in the bar after, when asked the same question......

Barkhuizen was also injured moments before the pen; he got studs down his shin from a trailing leg on the touchline right in front of technical area. He was limping afterwards and ordinarily would probably have gone down if we weren't trying to get back into the game. Their manager said "are you ok" to Tom after the challenge.

Very rare you can say numbers 1-11 were poor but that was the case against Stevenage. They (Stevenage) were very poor but worked hard and were very committed. I felt like being commited to a looney bin after that tosh. Work rate and commitment were non-existant in the second half from us as was any leadership. Unacceptable.

Subs were bizarre and there can be no excuses for such a turgid overall display at home as that. Luv Jimbo and all that but this wasn't acceptable for a home team in ANY league to perform. The stats are there for all to see: You can't continue to run a football league club on gates that are dwindling towards a 1000.

I'm not saying Jimbo should be sacked. But surely he must see the fans frustration as they were hardly a Donny or Carlisle. I get to a fair few away games but I would still rather see us do the biz at home with loads of fans watching and the club growing and growing. That's been part of the fun over the last 30 years for the more August supporter.

I'd like to say it will improve against Exeter but their record against us at home is pretty bloody decent and they will relish coming to the Globe (still no bloody name change on the horizon!). Seems to be a pecking order of faves with Jim too at the mo. Kev and Flemmo weren't at their best but remained on. Didn't even look like we wanted to win the thing with the subs.

So yeah, sitting pretty in the League but you can't build a club on crap home performances like this and falling gates due to the same thing.

IMO at 0-2 down, I would have brought Massanka on to see what he could do with Ellison going off,
and definitely kept Molyneux on, who was playing okay and at least was trying to make things happen.
Fleming should have gone off, with Murphy on and Barkhuizen off, replaced by Mullin.
It's easy to criticise substitutions, but myself and everyone around me in the Omega were shaking their heads in disbelief yesterday at the bizarre substitutions that took place.
I don't agree that Stevenage were a poor side at all. They had a game plan, stuck to it,everyone knew what part they were playing. There was no indecisiveness on the pitch from them, unlike us.
They were pressing us every time we had the ball, closing down the space and not letting us play.
When Barkhuizen was going for the ball the touch line near the dugouts, he had three Stevenage players surrounding him.
I was impressed by their work rate, and willingness to support their team mates.

Yes - and what did we do? - the exact opposite, loads of space for them to get their passes in.
When the game started and for the first 20 minutes we were on top and they were lacking confidence - but we know what happens after 20 minutes of not breaking the opposition down - we give them space to build confidence and suddenly think ooo we can go to the other end and put the ball in their net for our first away win :? :?
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think
