Scunthorpe Q&A

Postby ironbrunet » Thu Dec 01, 2016 10:20 am

Morning folks,
Hope you are well.
Looking for a Morecambe fan or two to answer a few questions ahead of our EFL Trophy game next week. We usually ask five or six questions in the following format.

Not looking great with regards the weather here. Fog hasn't really lifted... Hopefully we can get it played.

Alexander has said he is giving some fringe players a chance.. they are flying at the top of L1, scoring lots of goals (2 a game) and not conceding much, GD +24 makes our form look pretty sh!te tbh, but take us for granted at your peril
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

I would say he is taking it seriously but he has used the competition to rotate our fairly big squad and has been giving a lot of fringe players a chance. He feels whichever team we put out has enough to win any of the games in this competition, so it will be a competitive X1 with a few players included hoping to force their way in for Saturday.

We made the maximum number of changes available (think we've made 7 each game) for each of the three games so far (Wins against Middlesborough, Shrewsbury and Cambridge) but as we didn't have a game this weekend I'd say it will be a mix of those that are due to start against Rochdale on Saturday and some of the fringe players. I'd expect Jordan Clarke, Luke Williams, Paddy Madden & Hakeeb Adelekun all to get some minutes under their belt.

That's if the fog lifts though... If the game starts, I cannot see it lasting the 90 if conditions get worse. It is already really foggy and it does get bad at our place due to the fog rolling off the river up the road. It usually only gets worse as the night progresses.
