So we are expected to believe something like this happened, '' Hi Rod, Pete here, seems I accidentally sold my shares to a conman, I won't be around for a month or so , niether will he, just watch out!''

Rod...... ''sorry, not having that at all mate, I like him and I think you are mistaken!''

ffs :x

Sorry? PMG sold his private, personal shares in a limited company to someone he knew to be a conman? Seriously?

No. I had the pleasure of a phone call from Mark Dixon a couple of weeks ago. He explained that there were concerns by PMG over the Geordie crowd but these were explained away to their satisfaction. The main critical element of the deal was that he had the money to buy the club and invest. Various documents were produced - assume something related to Abdullah - that were convincing to both PMG and the EFL that Diego and any backers had the means and resources to fulfil their side of the bargain. They signed fully assured on both points.

Mark's words were along the lines of, 'it literally changed within hours from white to black', and explained that with support he took over control of all aspects of the club. The clear point was that PMG and MD knew something was very wrong very shortly after the ink had dried. However, as we all know some faith was still placed in Diego for several weeks afterwards. I just think it was unfair to make that point.

So how did that work out then?

We were in the Wright & Lord Suite for the Crewe game and I was really hoping Diego would walk in his suit and club tie, grab a microphone and start a speech. All the key players were in the room. It would have made incredible television. The final denouement, the big climax, the grand finale. Must say that I'm very disappointed to see Rod suddenly being held accountable for the crap that's gone on. Albeit in a backhanded way. I've more time for him than anyone ever connected with MFC be it players, management, officials or whomever. Just shows how far our once wonderful family club has fallen!

Rod will be around long after other people are long gone, he's a genuine supporter.

I think the best thing we can hope for is that Diego is made a Saint and his flock in the N.E catch some CJD at the same time . ;)
