Perhaps, just perhaps, Conference is his level, you know, a bit like Podge!!!

Absolutely no way was I suggesting that we should have held onto Massanka.

I did quite often post that he should be given a chance and I still think that he wasn't given enough game time, but can a player be judged purely on 15 minutes here and 20 minutes there?

I recall a certain Russ Perkins taking some time to show his true potential. However it is more than likely that Massamka will find the Conf to be his true level and I hope that he is a success.

But to reiterate no way was I suggesting that we should have retained his loan services.

He played well over an hour in that Cheltenham game and far, far from made a good impression.

I thought he was woeful.

Which was a shame because the rest of the team performed admirably in a game spoilt by an inept referee.

One thing for certain is whichever director it is won't be bringing Massanka back with him despite the guy nearly scoring a hat trick on his debut for Wrexham last Saturday coming on in the 70th minute and hitting the post with his first shot.

Nearly scoring a hat-trick???  Didn't even score 1 in a worse league.

There's a 4 page thread on Massanka on the Wrexham Forum.

You need to be registered just to be able to read it which, in all honesty, I can't be arsed to do.

Anyone who is already registered on there it'd be interesting to hear what they're saying.

I suppose "nearly scored a hat trick" could be interpreted as coming very close to scoring three times.

Or it could mean that, even with three decent chances, he couldn't hit a barn door!

If they're shit, then yes.

And of course, what the management team see on the training pitch day in, day out, will be taken into account.

Massanka wasn't good enough in my opinion. Even if he does go on to play for England, we only had him on loan and he wasn't good enough at the time to lead our line and make an immediate impact. Which is what he needed. Turner had less opportunities and managed to prove himself.

Hope I'm proved wrong but can't see the point in taking an 18 year on loan UNLESS Everton have agreed to fund his wages and he's here to fill the bench.

League 2 is a bloody hard league even for experienced pros....never mind an untried 18 year old.

I agree with City Shrimp. Massanka was not good enough, simply too lightweight and keen to avoid the physical side of the game. In my opinion there is no way he will become an established Premiership player.

Welcome Anthony, heard he's highly rated at Everton and could be a good signing for us, not expecting great things but it's another number in our squad we desperately needed. Whitmore is also coming back and I'm hearing we're hoping to bring 1 or 2 more in before the window shuts !

Yeah, that 18 year old Everton played in their first team against Man City at the weekend was way out of his depth .........

I was just gonna say that, but read the rest of the thread first.

also Wayne Rooney, made his debut for Everton as a 17yr old, banging them in for fun.

Given our circumstances, to get anyone in is a bonus. I doubt he has cost us a penny and might make a few useful sub appearances over the next few weeks.
