Football medal from 1921-22

I have unearthed a solid silver winners medal for the Daniels Cup 1921-22. It was my fathers but I know nothing about it. I know he played in goal sometimes for Morecambe Reserves but am not sure that this is actually connected with the club.

Engraving on the back states-

Medal presented by J.B.Christie Esq
Bare.

Realise that even on SV's no one will be old enough to remember the competition but has anyone any idea how I might find out more info?
