Where are the goals going to come from?

We ain't going to keep a clean sheet on Saturday in my opinion and I feel that although a draw is just keeping our heads above the precipice, we really need to try and win this one which means scoring 2 goals or more, something we rarely do nowadays.

Forest Green have had 2 good wins on the trot, so this isn't going to be easy.

On a positive note they have conceded the most goals in the league averaging just over 2 per game but then again our scoring rate is less than 1 per game so take out of that what you will, recent form is probably a better guide but either way there isn't much there to give us confidence.

Do those stats take in to account time on the pitch, i.e. used as a substitute or taken off after 70 minutes etc?

No it doesn’t take account of substitutions either coming on as a sub or being subbed. However, looking at the stats its arguable that both Amond and, particularly, Redshaw, started a higher proportion of games than the others.

P.S. There is enough data here to make it statistically better than the David Bentley analogy. However, playing at different levels is important for disproving the stats. Shrimpy is right to point out Podge’s boom year at Grimsby but Oliver has played at the same level too.

Another game with no goals scored against a team leaking over 2 goals a game emphasises the crisis we are in. This side needs a finisher or we are finished.
