Vadaine Oliver...MoM

Vadaine Oliver...MoM

Postby Christies Child » Sun Dec 10, 2017 12:18 pm

Have to say that I've been an admirer of Vadaine from Day1 despite his lack of goals but yesterday for me was breakthrough time for Vadaine and totally justified his MoM award. Little wonder that a number of the Coventry fans would like to see them make an approach for him when his contract comes to an end or even sooner.

Vadine has more than once this season been a handful for an opponents central defensive partnership and his work rate has never been a question for me.

After he has scored that all important opening goal yesterday you could see the confidence grow in his all round performance and the way he challenged their defender in the final minutes was an example of his determination to ensure another vital 3 points.

Yesterday could be the catalyst for an increasing number of goals in the weeks and months to come.

Let's hope that Jimbo and Co enter into new contract negotiations sooner than later....and a special word also for our Wigan loanee...Lang...what a way to score your first EFL goal, something that a growing number of us have hoped would have happened earlier given an opportunity.

Let's hope that he's given a starting role next week.... :?: :?: :?:

i hope he's fit enough to play after yesterdays bad tackle on him that the shortsighted assistant ref didn't notice even though it wa was feet away from him! He got a few choice words from the faithful after that, as i think Keith heard!! :D
Don't worry be happy!

Vadaine certainly played his socks off yesterday. Let's hope that goal gives him the confidence to go on and increase his tally.

The tactics were finally suited to the way Oliver plays yesterday. Rose was the big difference as he gave the right service to the target man. Oliver never had to chase any stray passes down and that is down to Rose. Kenyon is full blooded but he does not have magic toes! It was a bit like watching Xavi Alonso, picking the ball up from the back and pinging accurate passes in to the front man. The off the ball running from deep totally terrorised a solid defence all game.

On the team sheets issued prior to the match, Kenyon was down to play with Thommo as a sub. Wonder what changed the original line up, because whatever it was certainly worked with Thommo playing the wide man and laying on the delicate pass for Lang to score that all important 2nd and match winning goal.

Couldn't have been a deliberate ruse to fool the opposition as they studied our original line up on the team sheet.....nah :o :o :o

No criticism of Alex but he's more defensive and the extra attacking player proved to be one of the decisive factors in game's outcome.

Just hope that Jimbo and Co continue to be more attack minded.

Kenyon was injured. He came on for a bit with Farny during the warm up, but went off again holding his back.

We are gonna have trouble keeping him if he has gone from being a Wigan loanee to an Everton loanee...

Neil, you might have been an admirer from day one, but I'm sure Vadaine would appreciate it all the more if you got his name right! ;)

Not sure why I thought he was an Everton loanee when he is in fact a Wigan loanee...whatever....he's respected at his parent club and they expect big things from him in the future according to their Fans Forum.

As for VADAINE....just another cock up by me...one of a growing list...

Think we're going to have trouble keeping him anyway but we should be using him whilst we have him. None of the other strikers are scoring.

On the other hand Wigan are knocking them in for fun so may decide he's surplus.
