In defence of the Board

In defence of the Board

I've had my say about Jimbo and no doubt alienated myself in his eyes, especially as earlier in his managerial career we used to have a good relationship often talking at depth about footballing issues at the training ground.

However what has been said came from the heart (in both our cases I suspect) but sometimes better to get things out in the open.

Recent posts on this forum have been very critical of the current Board and to some extent they are justified. BUT for me without the recent funding by the Board of our club out of their own pockets the club would for me be in a much darker place than it is at the moment.

Continued speculation about new investment based on what league we are in next season will hopefully be resolved in the very near future.

It's well documented that I don't put all the blame for our off the field problems on the shoulders of PMcG although to some extent he has to take some but not all of the blame. However what has gone has gone and it's time we collectively moved on to the next and I sincerely believe that given time and the honourable commitment of the current and possible new Board members that we as a club will become united both on and off the field. It may take a number of years, not months but with goodwill and trust at Board level, from the Trust and most importantly the man on the terrace who pays his money that our great club can become a force to be reckoned with once again.

If I buy a puppy can I kill it however I like?

Your defence is that it’s there money. That’s not a defence. You also don’t know what would have happened if the board didn’t put there money in.

Everyone wants to blame everyone else right now...Jim, the board, the town, the fans. The only one of those I feel cannot be held accountable are the fans.

All I want is for someone to accept some responsibility. Admit mistakes and ask for help. That’s how we were a family club to begin with.

You don’t know that! That’s my point. We might be in the conference north. But we might still be a family ran club. It’s subjective but certainly not a fact.
