The Trust is looking for a volunteer to independently examine the financial statements of Shrimps Supporters Society Limited for the year ending 31 May 2018. Due to this being the first period of accounts, there is a tight reporting deadline which will require approval of the accounts within approximately 2 months of the year end therefore any volunteer needs to have availability in June or July to fulfil the role.

There is no requirement for examiners to hold a professional accountancy qualification however an understanding of accountancy principles and accounting standards will be needed therefore a qualified accountant would be preferable.

For avoidance of doubt the examiner should have no connection with the Trust Board members that might inhibit the impartial conduct of the examination.

Supporters Direct has thorough guidelines on the process of the independent examination which will be provided to the examiner. The Treasurer of the Trust will provide a detailed file and supporting documentation where necessary to support the independent examiner in their duties.

The independent examiner, on satisfaction of their review, will be required to sign an independent examiners statement within the final statutory accounts.

Due to unforeseen circumstances we are now looking urgently for another independent examiner who has availabilty within the next week to 10 days to perform the review of the accounts.
