Tough loss, thought we looked pretty good, definitely didn't deserve to lose that.

Good game, played well. Deserved better. Fleming & Jayne linked up really well together.

Unfortunate, but some hope again.

Yes, better side, three chances in last five mins, Oswell had header saved and another chance blocked. MOM for me was Flemo again.
Some luck on Saturday would be welcomed.

Yes indeed, but playing well for large sections of a game is still showing us on paper as being the losing team, we seem to have that mentality now. Some really good performances tonight. Just wish Baz could make saves from more than 20 yards away

Tricky game in a competition that we have had little success in, in either format. Two wins from two essential now, Sunderland will be tough unless they rest all their players which I suspect they will, a game to look forward too regardless and maybe a respectable crowd for this competition - just over 1000 maybe? Stoke reserves should be winnable.

One poster reckons we are destined for the National League. Will be great when we prove him and others wrong.

How did the young lads Carlos and Jagne and the new loanee play?

By the same token, another poster thought we had put our Reserve Team out and we were impressive.

They both played well and I wouldn't mind seeing them both play together in EFL matches.

I thought Fleming was our best player last night. Sinclair had a good game too and bombed forward helping in the move for our 2nd goal and he defended well. Oliver also had a very good game scoring a header and assisting Pigott with a good pass for his goal.

Just been watching the highlights. Our rotation and movement going forward is fantastic and we got our reward for it with our second goal. Mendes-Gomes shifting inside and freeing up space for Oliver to sneak in from the wing, great stuff!

We need much more discipline in our shape defending though. You generally can't press too aggressively in a 4-4-2 or you will get done. Maintaining shape was what we needed to do more. Really disappointed in Ellison's positioning, far too tucked in and allowing loads of room out wide. Mendes-Gomes guilty of not tracking back occasionally but I'm more inclined to be forgiving on him as he is young and only just starting to play professional football. Technique looked sublime though, there was a great through ball to Fleming and a lovely cross for Oswell. Jagne looks comfortable on the ball too.

On our goalkeepers and long shots, what concerns me is the lack of foot work when stopping them. They just seem to dive from a stationary position. When you have time to move over to the corner a bit, bloody do it! A couple of quick side steps and some of the shots they let in they'd probably be able to catch.

Also, it's amazing what happens when we actually use Oliver as a footballer rather than a tall thing we kick the ball loosely in the direction of.

Just watched the highlights as well and their 3rd goal was the result of yet again being afforded too much time and space on the left wing. When oh when will we mark up tighter or is that expecting too much... :?:

Otherwise we looked good and from what I saw both Carlos and Jagne deserve more game time AND get 'em signed up now for at least another season. Scouts will be making a note of their names, we can't let such talent escape for peanuts :!:

Wouldn't surprise me if his former club Athletico Madrid where he was a Youth player are keeping an eye on his progress plus other leading Spanish clubs. ;)
