Game vs Swindon Can Be Watched Live on iFollow

It seems the EFL have recently changed the rules and now allow 3pm kick-offs to be streamed live in the UK starting tomorrow.

A lot of clubs, including ours, have been unaware of the change in rules but as every club is using iFollow for their official website, you can suddenly buy a match pass for £10 and watch the game at home.

I'm not sure how much of the £10 the club will see so this is terrible for lower league clubs.

Andy Holt has had a fair bit to say about it too on his Twitter feed.

I believe this applies only for the international break weekends and reverts back to midweek not next weekend when the big money is back.

This is getting to the thick end of the wedge.

Soon away fans will end up watching online for a fiver, there will be no away fans, atmosphere will die and so will the lower leagues.

The EFL are twatting about with football and it’s a joke.

Andy Holt not happy, he says Morecambe are one of the Clubs unaware this was going to happen

He said he was unaware but then admitted the club got a letter in July but that's "when everyone’s on holiday" .

As Posh says, the biggest impact will be on away followings. A day out to an away game isn't cheap, for the same price (if not cheaper), you can watch it at home then go out for the evening without spending half your day on a motorway.

It was going to happen at some point. It's up to clubs, in my opinion, to make the matchday experience as enjoyable and affordable for fans as much as possible.
