I never said they "weren't allowed", you are wrong to suggest that I did.
The plebs however, were never encouraged to come up stairs to join the more well heeled. They were given a soulless bar with boar steaks and no atmosphere. So most fans go straight home.
I'm suggesting that we should encourage people to come up. However, simply closing the ground floor bar would lead to even more people going somewhere else for a drink. If we had drinks promotions and perhaps a local band, then we may get more people staying behind and enjoying the whole 'match day experience' again, something that has been lost for the majority of fans.
When your customers keep telling you what the problems are, many of which could have been rectified with little, if any cost, and you still choose not to listen, then a business can't be surprised when the customer base dwindles.
