Very disappointing, shameful even.

Jimbo was interviewed by Radio Lancashire yesterday ahead of the Crawley game and he said he was devastated by the news and called him a legend.

We currently seem like a club without any soul if we can't pay tribute to a great servant of the club.

Just highlights even more the way things have gone at the club over the years and why so many fans have walked away.

Reading some of the tributes to Edgey yesterday reminded me of so many good times over the years on and off the pitch of which we just can't seem to recreate anymore (although why that is should probably be another thread).

Before we get too far down the 'crap club' approach, we need to remember that Dave fell out with the club, or people within it. It *might* be that Dave's family don't want the club to make an official statement?

Now, it might not be that situation, in which case, I agree that it is very poor. But given that Quinny has posted on Facebook about his personal sadness, it may be out of respect to Dave's family?

I've had it confirmed that Dave's family don't want anything 'official' from the club.

Dave was highly regarded & liked by the vast majority of people at MFC. Perhaps in time, his family will take comfort from that knowledge.

Good to read that Jimbo held Dave in high regard.

As for fixing Christie the Cat is it possible to fix Dodgy Darren Clifford?

Well the Shrimps are certainly living on the edge now. Its been a steady decline since Edgey left the club.

If anyone deserves to be on the Legends wall for service to the club its Edgey.

How is his son progressing as a goalkeeper in the professional game?

So sad. Part of the furniture for so many years. I hope he makes the legends' wall. RIP.

I'm pleased to see this. It would be nice if there was a minute's applause at the game on Saturday so that fans can also show their respect, if Dave's family would agree?

For those of us who have got Edgey on their Facebook accounts, the funeral details have just been announced on there by his son, Lewis.

As Marky said, the club spoke with the family first. Quite rightly so. Once the family confirmed that they were in agreement, the statement was made.

Your other message (and replies referring to it) was removed as this wasn't the right place for that discussion. Feel free to start a new thread.
