£12m could have got us an AFC Fylde or a Burton Albion and no one would have complained.

As Mr PH says, we got the Temple of PMG. It’s a legacy of the financial crash where money is more important than people. It can be improved but that means acknowledging it at board level and that’s never been done.

As I understand it, the first set of architects designed a ground that they wanted but it they missed the affordability bit and when it first went out to tender it was way beyond our means. So, instead, we got a rush job with no thought for ordinary fans, grounds staff, the press or away supporters.

This topic has been done to death but nothing will stop me forgetting about the sheer and utter incompetence of those three who came up with it and delivered it with no involvements from those it was there for.

Amen to that Posh but have management lived and learnt and will the new owners be investing in a replacement training facility?

TBF the board did listen, as fans requested standing areas of which we ended up with three sides of the ground.
IF, as the board originally intended, they had gone with an all seater, grants could have assisted for between 20 and 40% of the build costs, so another if only, really?

True, BUT, 'they' weren't aware that a grant was only for ALL seater, so as soon as we had a terrace the grant went whoosh out of the window for the whole lot, so ultimately we had no money towards our main stand. Big reason for us and Chesterfield producing a completely different animal although having said that, we are in the EFL and they arent!

And therein lies the naivety and stupidity. I’m glad there was listening exercise that basically said ‘oh you want a terrace’. They didn’t listen or reply to the fans about the North Stand; listen to experts about the pitch; to Chesh about where his equipment would go; to Mark about the PA (he was going in the Community Block); to the press; to hospitality (beer lines 100 yards long); and as I know from the citadel of power at Riversway House, they didn’t go out and meet other clubs to see what off-the-shelf designs they could use.

They never listened. PMG didn’t even listen to his own board about the crest design.

This constant whinging about how poor The Globe is and who is to blame is pointless as we have to live with what we've got. It's not perfect by any means but there is little point in my opinion to playing the blame game time after time.

On a more positive point, well done to the playing staff and others for helping out in the distribution and sorting out of the donated food for the food bank appeal which I hope all fans at Saturday's game will contribute to.

Would be excellent in the media particularly TV could get involved with this, after all they are quick to report the bad news.....

Your posts are very informative Mr Gibson which I appreciate as well as your gentlemanly conduct and I agree with everything you have stated. But what I cannot understand is why you never became a Director of MFC Ltd or why you never raised your concerns on this forum about the "dogs dinner" of a new ground during the pre construction period and the construction period.

There is no way on earth would Posh have been prepared to work alongside the former Chairman in my opinion. However maybe if they had got together it would have been interesting to say the very least to have been a fly on the Boardroom walls and to listen to the banter between the two. One thing for sure it would not have been a marriage made in heaven....

Jason confirmed that Venture had made an offer that turns out nowhere near the valuation and that we have made a higher offer that they wont accept.
Must admit I was surprised that we are not very interested in putting grass down and using it as our training facility, but reasons were given why
