Ulverston pubs O/T

Just wondered if anybody knows whether the Saddlers Arms still exists in Ulverston, or could it have changed name ?

Can't find any reference to a pub by this name in the Furness region and have no memory of it personally. Sure you don't mean the Farmers' Arms? If not, whereabouts in Ulverston was this place? Can you remember which brewery was it tied to?

The pubs in Ulverston used to be mainly Hartleys so probably mainly Robinsons now.

I should have mentioned, I visited it in 1980, it was round the corner from Lower Brook Street, and yes I believe it was Hartley's. Thanks.

It's one of those phantom pubs jbc. Tell us the whole story, may be able to make it into a screenplay?

"It was night on Lower Brook Street. Many old dwellings filled the street. Normally the noises from inside the cottages leaked out but today there was no sound except the clink of glasses and the burble of the patrons from within the pub round the corner. JBC didn't remember seeing a hostelry there but its sounds beckoned him..................
