Thanks for posting. A very fair report, underlining the obvious difference between the teams on the day, two pieces of real quality finishing.

Yes a very fair appraisal of today's game.

Assuming they were fit I could not understand Mandeville and A-Jay being on the bench. OK it worked against a very inferior Cambridge but once we were a goal down Jim should have been making changes at the interval. I like the look of young Gomes-Mendes and he will really put pressure on some of the incumbents.

The match showed what we all know , we need someone who can score goals and Jim doesn't seem to have much faith in Oswell. An interesting January is starting and it will be crucial to our survival to see who leaves if anyone and who comes in.

A fair assessment of the game settled by Carlisle's only 2 on target shots throughout the game.

Whilst we huffed and puffed in the final third all credit to Carlisle for not allowing our forwards any time on the ball being quick to close down whilst we continued in our usual manner of backing off in defence.

CFC forwards played a high line playing off our final man for vast amounts of the game whilst our forward (yes correct single forward) didn't put any pressure on their back line by playing too deep which is a common theme of our managements tactics.

Carlisle scored with 2 terrific hits (their only serious attempts on goal through the game )that would have won many other games whilst we continue to be shot shy other than for midfielder Cranston who is the only player prepared to have a go. Begs the question why are we not prepared to have a go from distance?

Once again our managers team selection showed that Oswell was an unused sub which is absolutely criminal and suggests that something is wrong.

As our owners said at the recent AGM our manager will be judged on results: 1 point from the last 9 is worrying.

John Sheridan has now resigned from Carlisle and is hot favourite to take the managers position at Chesterfield.

Carlisle now looking for a manager again and we know who was in the frame in the Summer.

I've been reading the Carlisle forum at lunchtime and it appears there was a fallout between Devitt and Sheridan during the 6-0 home win v Oldham on Boxing Day.
