As above I thought the ref was bad, but the linesman on the Berlin Wall was an utter joke.... he didn’t seem to know where he was or what he was supposed to do

The only other thing I noticed is once again we are a bit naive and to nice.... akinde constantly stood in front of our keeper getting our supporters upset and causing issues for halstead and when play needed breaking up they just dropped to the floor.... not right I know, but it helps them

After a couple of encouraging away wins I was hoping for a battling performance again the current league leaders at the very least. Unfortunately the team failed to turn up and offered very little in terms of endeavour and tactical nouse. The referee didn't make a good account of himself ignoring many of the ball shirt pulls and feigning injury to wind the clock down. Lincoln are a very close second to Stevenage in the art of winning free kicks by constant falling over when challenged.

Having now seen both Bury and Lincoln for me I'd much prefer Bury to win the league if only for the fact that they played the game in the correct manner and certainly more creative in terms of playing football.

We didn't help our chances to get something out of the game by applying zero pressure to their back line and as per usual one striker for most of the game was negative to say the least. One shot on target throughout the game was our sum of our goal scoring threat. Tactically once again we got it wrong allowing their back line to play the ball through midfield with no challenge coming from our lads whatsoever. I simply don't understand this tactic of playing at least 5 yards off an opponents defence. Once gain as v Bury they had at least 2 men up top for the majority of the game.

In short a terrible lack lustre performance frome our lads who basically showed Lincoln too much respect and showed for me how far we are from being hopefully next season a top 10 team.

As for Lincoln they will probably get promoted by whatever cheating means they can but for me I'd love it if they fell from grace and the league was won by the best team we've seen at the Globe..... Bury.

If you can be bothered have a read of some of the comments on their fans board. One comment that summed today up for me said that we could be playing until Sunday and still not score. How true.....

Yes Cranston had a 'mare today and where was Conlan when the winger scored the first goal , for me left back is a problem position that needs solving in the Summer.

The ref and assistants were dire. This ref has been in charge of 3 games for us this season , Oldham Home (0-2) Halifax away 0-1 and now this one !

No real complaints about the officials from me. Lincoln are a team who are all built like brick shit houses. They can also play a bit of football and were clinical with the limited number of chances they created.I can't see how we can blame the officials for todays result, we were out muscled and by and large out foot balled. They are ultra professional and you can see why they are top of the league. Shows just how far we would have to improve to make an impression at the other end of the table and with our budget compared to teams like Lincoln it probably isn't going to happen any time soon. Ah well at least we have something to play for, even if it's only a battle against the drop.

And right-back is a problem position too! even Mills he's great going forward, way better in midfield.

One criticism of the officials. That effort which was allegedly scooped off the goal line by Gilks definitely looked to be well over the line. However I looked straight over to where the liner was positioned on the Berlin Wall side and he was level with the goal line and had a better angle to see than me stood behind the goals. Still swear it was well over but I fear it would have only been a consolation.

Never expected a win today after two excellent away wins.

Next game at Yeovil away is huge.

Couldn't go to the match but given that the team have grabbed 6 very important points in the previous 2 games I think it is entirely forgivable that any struggling team with a skeleton staff lose against the league leaders, Phoenix shrimps comments seem to be a fair and balanced assessment, anti Jim biased views are irrellavent

I actually thought I had seen worst performances this year TBH but still stand by that the officials were very poor.
Lincoln were a very physical side and at times we needed to be more physical also but when we were we were penalised and they weren't.
6 points from a possible 9 is still brilliant and think we would all take that points ratio for rest of the season

It's the way that we lost without any real endeavour or battling spirit that got me. We were second best to nearly every second ball and the lack of goal attempts was in part instrumental in a shambolic home performance that probably rates as one of the worst if not the worst this season.

We are so much better than that and after 2 excellent away performances the fans deserved more effort from the lads rather than what appeared to be an attitude of succumbing to the inevitable from minute one :!: :!: :!:

I can't really agree with this Redrobo. We played on Tuesday on a gluepot energy sapping pitch, Lincoln had a week off. Kev love him as much as we do is 40 and has been asked to play 3 games in a week. I thought he was off the pace yesterday and was by and large a passenger. Look at their substitutes.Scary, those 7 would walk into most other league 2 starting line ups and some could still do it in league 1. I feared yesterday that we would hit an immovable object and that's the way it panned out. We huffed and puffed and I think all the lads gave as much effort as they could but sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say that we were out gunned by top of the table. They aren't there through luck.

Respect your thoughts Phoenix Shrimp but as I said it was the lack of effort especially in closing a very street savvy Lincoln down that got to me.

I go along to some extent with the fact we had a game on Tuesday that had an effect on our performance, but if it was of concern to the management then the starting line up should have reflected that but have to agree that Kevin wasn't really at the races and should have been replaced at half time for a more mobile Collins....at the very least.

I believe that all your comments would have more validity if we'd been playing one of the lesser teams in the league and put that performance in. After two great away wins I felt on Tuesday night that we had turned a corner performance wise. I also thought yesterday would be a bridge too far for all the reasons I've stated. Posters are saying that it was the worst home performance of the season, I certainly didn't see it that way against a Lincoln team I see as champions in waiting. It also wouldn't surprise me if they did a Luton next season and were competing at the top of League 1. Yes I do however agree that a tired Kev should have been hooked much sooner. We are all hugely disappointed that the poor home form continues and it is frustrating in the extreme, but I now believe we have enough to keep ourselves above the trap door and for this season at least that will be mission accomplished.

Yeovil is and always was a massive game and let's hope that we show the spirit and determination to get a positive result that we all know our team is capable of, but what team turns up on Saturday could have serious consequencies for our future as a club not only in the EFL but even further down the pyramid if as some suspect we go into admin on relegation....god forbid...

First 20 or so we were crap but after that we weren't bad. Just a very very tough game against a very good, but incredibly unpleasant and dirty side. We could have done more to carve out a few more chances but it was hardly like they had a ton of good openings.

They pressed well and had some excellent players which was the difference I felt. Although in many ways, I was pretty disappointed by Lincoln. I expected them to be a more impressive footballing outfit overall. Just a lot of their game seemed to be about general thuggery.

They were still better than us though, we just lacked a bit of quality generally but towards the end of the first half we were showing flashes. Kev should have been hooked instead of CMG. He was pretty non-present whereas as CMG was causing Lincoln a few problems, and they were doubling/tripling up on him. We should have brought on Mandeville/Collins for Kev and left CMG on - then use the space opened up by CMG drawing men towards him.

As an Imp, I think a 2-0 was probably about right ( but I would say that, wouldn’t I)! On the issue of us being physical, Id day the ref was weak on both teams. I saw enough short pulling, holding in the box at corners from Shrimpers defenders as much as you guys claiming wecweee physical. Listen L2 is a physical environment, we are no different to any other teams week in week out. We won the majority of our battles which meant we prevailed.
Good luck guys on the remaining part of the season. Hope you guys stay up

I think we'll all see things a little differently, and always be biased towards our own sides. I agree the ref was poor, but I did think we tried too hard to stay on our feet compared with your lot - the prime example was Zak Mills (our No2), getting several tugs on his shoulder & shirt from your lad before your lad finally got in front, then one little tug from Mills & your lad went down and won a free kick - that wasn't well received by the Shrimps fans (sorry, but you made the classic BBC error - Southend are the Shrimpers).

No doubt at all that Lincoln deserved to win. I just wish we had brought Mandeville on at halftime and played like we did in the last 20 minutes for the entire 45. Also Kevin had a quiet game and maybe we should have brought the new signing Aaron Collins on also at halftime.
