22 veiws and no response, a shame really.

Sounds like a great idea, more positive effort by the club, and I hope it is a success.

Maybe it doesn't fit some peoples perceptions of the owners? New training base, attempting to break 4k on bank hol monday and now this. 3 exciting developments in a fortnight.

To be fair, it may have had more to do with the thread only being 40 minutes old by the time of the first reply!

An excellent initiative. Hope the weather is good and lots of people turn up. If we can capture the hearts of young people, many of them will support us for life. The free season tickets to children may be worth reviewing again.

So how did that work out then?

I am sure I read that the club are handing out free season tickets to Y6 children again. Accy go one further and give out replica shirts as well.

Obviously a cost implication, but a really good way to get young fans on board.

They are heavily reduced from Xmas onwards so would it be that big of a cost? Accy haven't changed their kits for 2 or 3 years though.

I think (might be wrong) that Acci gave them away pre-season? Perhaps we could do something in-between? For example, give the free season ticket away. Kid comes to a pre-season family day, has photo taken with a player. Print it out. On the back of the card, boxes for stamps. Each game attended, go in the club shop and get a stamp. Collect seven stamps before the end of November and the club send a Christmas present of a Morecambe shirt. Cost of shirt and some lost sales, but we'd know that the kids are actually using the season ticket and bringing an adult too. Plus, 'pester power', if they are regularly going in the club shop, hopefully some of them will buy stuff (or the adult will!) Doing the photo gives the kid a memento but also, that means their face is on the card, so it can be checked that the right kid is attending! 8-)

Have a 'Plan B' for lost cards and kids who aren't able to attend the Family Day.
