From what I've been told by a couple of Directors JB was more than just our football manager he also undertook a lot of additional duties that where not within his job description. As a result it is highly unlikely that whoever takes over will be of a similar nature and be prepared to undertake more than simply on field matters.
Rod and Co have their own outside business interests to undertake and it would be wrong for us to expect them to carry any more day to day responsibilities than they already do.
Therefore for me not only do we need a football manager (who will concentrates 110% on football matters) but we also need a General Manager to take complete control of all day to day functions of a football club as well as providing the necessary administrative back up to the new manager.
I understand that money is an issue but somehow the club must find a way to ensure that our new manager concentrates solely on on-the field footballing and squad matters rather than have to get involved in the admin side of our club.
Any appointment of a General Manager does not have to be a footballing person.They have to be first and foremost for me an organiser, an admin superstar and the face of our club. To expect any new manager to take on duties other than those on-field is not in the best interests of our great club.
The problem of course is finding that individual which may prove more difficult than the appointment of our new manager.....
