Thought our weakness in defence down our left side was obvious and exploited by Blackpool. We play a neat passing game but it gets nowhere and usually is sideways or backwards. Good that the new manager was there to see it all and I am sure there will be some new faces in the side after the January transfer window.

January will be massive for us. I cannot see these players improving or keeping us up. And that is not judged on today where Blackpool were just too strong for us.

Great support today, without the result it deserved. Far too easy for their big no21,first 2 goals, virtually unchallenged. Just a real uphill battle from there, and NO luck once again.

Can not understand why Brewitt was marking him at corners. It was far too easy for him to score the 2nd goal.

We are too small and not physical enough to compete with the likes of Blackpool, who i didn't think were that good tbh.

3 very soft goals which highlighted our frailties. We need to find a new LB and a whole new midfield in January.

Well I was there today more in hope than anything, you know, the new managers bounce effect etc'.Head said Blackpool are back on track with a quality manager and some very good players and we'll probably struggle, but hey it's the FA cup, we had great support and anything can happen. That was very quickly dispelled, we were carved open and after a few near misses Blackpool quickly went 2-0 up and the game was effectively over. We can huff and puff but we don't have anywhere near the quality to compete with what we were up against today. After that Blackpool knew they could coast the rest of the game in second gear and they did!

My honest opinion is that Jim has left us, with very few exceptions, with a team of journey men, not quite good enough men and basically a team destined to struggle. Yes I know the issues and difficulties he had with obtaining and then retaining decent players and I just hope things are going to improve under Derek Adams.I think Derek has a brilliant profile as a young manager at our level and with the right backing will succeed. Will he get that backing, we can only hope. One things for sure he's going to need time and patience to sort it out and I hope he gets it. I think our fans are knowledgeable enough to know the issues involved and give him the support he will need!

I can see Adams making the players better organised than they were under Jim.

Well beaten today. Another season without a cup run but a relegation battle certainly to fight. The fans are up for it. Let's hope the players are too. COYS!

You cannot expect DA to perform miracles overnight, judging by his past record he will want to improve the fitness of the squad, assess who he wants to keep, educate the players into his way of playing , and then make changes in January, probably on a one in one out basis as we have a big squad, although he officially starts work on Monday we can't expect anything drastic overnight, has anyone any idea if he is bringing assistants with him?

Have to agree with the above. What our new manager witnessed today will have given him an awareness of the problems we have in defence.

Changes will happen but not overnight as some of the squad are on 2 year deals.

As for the game Blackpool had done their homework on us especially our reluctance to tightly mark wide men of which Blackpool had on each wing. They allowed us no time in midfield which saw us having to play it round at the back and forcing us into poor distribution through the game.

Full respect to Blackpool on the day and showed that our new manager has a lot of work to do.

As for our fans..... brilliant and noticed that our manager soon became the leader of our red army.

There will be some very nervous squad members with January looming,
I can see a few changes happening, and it needs it
Let's give DA the support he deserves as he try's to sort the mess left behind :D :D

Anyone know how many fans we took yesterday ?

Seemed a decent turnout and probably more than Blackpool were expecting judging by the huge Q's at catering , it really needed another outlet opening in the concourse.

968, 25% of which kept the alcohol trade in business for the next fortnight

I can imagine one or two of what could be described as "Jim players" may find their way down to AFC Fylde in January.

Maybe Kenyon , Old , possibly even Ellison although he may find a coaching position here with Kenny having departed.

Circa 40%+ of our average home gate which was excellent.

Word of praise to the vocal support especially the reference to Derek Adams Red and White Army. Not sure if he would have heard it but if he did what a welcome from the faithful.... :D :D :D

It actually made Morecambe's catering look efficient and that's saying something.
