O/T Eden North

Agree with Freez. Needs to do his job as a constituency MP rather than more overseas visits than any northern MP. Plenty of bribes in the budget and this was an easy one done purely for electoral advantage. The project will need £100 million not thousand, and that’s a far bigger challenge.

We have local councillors for that, when they're not rehearsing for Carry On Eden.

The word is spreading:

"The five shells, costing around £80m to build, could be open by 2021 and bosses at the Eden Project’s St Austell headquarters believe they would create more than 300 jobs and attract about 750,000 visitors a year."

Maybe our Commercial Dept could sound Eden Project North out about either Stadium sponsorship or shirt sponsorship (or both).

My partner and I went to a meeting at Halton Mill a couple of weeks ago, organised by Lancaster Arts Partnership...the communications officer from Eden Project North was there to ask about how we would like to see them get involved in the local community.

They want to be involved with as many local organisations as possible, no matter how big or small...so it's certainly worth approaching them.

If it comes off, shirt & stadium sponsorship would make really good commercial sense, given the national exposure that the club receives, it would be good advertising. Also, advertising with visiting clubs, come up to Morecambe for a (long) weekend. Eden Park on the Friday/Sunday with football on the Saturday. Everyone is a winner.

Moving along nicely, like the idea of an outdoor seated arena if they can guarantee bringing the sun with them

Morecambe prom has often been looked at as a highway for daytrippers to drive from one end to the other, Eden will change that

A small price to pay for the over all benefit to the town. People are comparing it to the demise of Yorkshire Street which is crazy talk. Plenty of other ways to get about the town.

Our existing promenade is more than capable of handling the footfall that is expected , the road should stay open , welcoming Eden is great, but they aren't taking over the whole town.

Morecambe prom has often been looked at as a highway for daytrippers to drive from one end to the other, without bothering to stop anywhere. Eden will change that  8-) 8-)

Could save the council a fortune, less road maintenance and they can return some of the traffic lights on the prom!

Could work by Putting in Road Signs saying "Bus routes and Residents only" like you see in other Towns.
