Redshaw, Paul Anderson, David Perkins, Connor Simpson (tall striker from Preston we were linked with last year) and Ryan Taylor all been mentioned. Also Brett Pitman, which would be a shock considering he's not been further north than Ipswich!

Can never know with these accounts, a lot of their rumours seems like they could have been made up through 'convenience'. Redshaw is a former player obviously but the connection is with JB, and he's been plagued by injury over the last few years. Shaun Miller also got churned out in the name generator a few weeks back, but DA didn't seem to fancy him at all during his loan.

Judging by the article in the Visitor, it does seem like we are close to annoucning some names. Would love for them to be announced now but I've got a feeling we'll get told once the team gets back to training.

If you sign a released player before 31st July then you have to pay them their salary for July.

If you sign a released player on 1st August the club he has been released by have to pay him his July salary as a sort of in lieu of notice payment.

There's been quite a bit of activity over the last few weeks at a number of clubs. Mansfield. Cambridge and Salford to name but a few have been signing new players in abundance for the forth coming season( :?: )

They obviously must have the finances to support such activity whilst no doubt a growing number of EFL2 clubs are suffering through the lack of money that has serious consequences for clubs wishing to improve their previous seasons performances by recruiting experienced players.

The time is right for a salary cap in our league and some restrictions on signing on fees to create a more even playing field for clubs without the financial muscle of others.

Here's a list of players who played in League Two last season and apparently don't have a contract, any we would take? https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/league- ... bewerb/GB4

That's a great move for Perks, even at his tender age.

I haven't been through the list but Theo Archibald formerly at Macclesfield and a winger is unattached at present.

Yep, decent on loan at FGR and decent for Macc last term. Don’t think we have room but never say never. Only 24 too.
