Releasing Players

Releasing Players

Postby P/T Indie » Thu Jun 03, 2021 8:52 pm

So have we officially released all our players that are out of contract because we can't submit a retained list? and then we just hope they don't take another offer while we sort out a manger and see who they want to keep.

The club didn’t have a choice

If players get snapped up then the new manager will have to bring in his own players

Big job for Keith Hill but he’s been there and done it

Blackpool have lost 2 players today. It's just one of those things and don't forget a lot of these lads have been playing on reduced wages this season. You can't blame them for moving for a few extra quid after what has been a tough year

Rod Taylor and Graham Howse did stress this subject today on Radio Lancs and said that ideally they want somebody by the weekend, it's Friday tomorrow.

Other than Carlos, don’t be surprised if we haven’t got options on one or two others. Players like Liam Gibson were signed with injuries etc. so we may have gone 1 year with a 1 year option. No details were released on some signings, so who knows. My suggestion is that we’d be making offers to some of them if only to create value in the player, definitely Carlos and maybe others.

Worth saying that there are going to be some players who won’t want to or can’t make the step up. I’d suggest some of the players due to age or ability would get released.
