Q and A Evening with our manager

Q and A Evening with our manager

Posted this just in case some haven't seen the details on the OWS.

Sounds to be a good night despite having to lateral flow test to attend.

Only Season Ticket holders are allowed entry which is yet another reason why fans should get a Season Ticket especially when the cost is so ridiculously inexpensive and could save fans a lot of pennies over the season.

:) :) :)

I didn't think that it was mandatory at such an event or are the club being cautious... :?: :?: :?:

Unfortunately I can't be there (sounds of cheering in the background  ) but hope it's an excellent night and a superb chance to quiz our new manager who to date has done an excellent job in putting together a good squad....just hope it's enough for our first (but not last) season in EFL1.

...but you of course fully support the club for demanding the "covid flow test malarkey" when you consider the potential damage to the club if the manager and other club officials became infected just before the season kicked off...

So how did that work out then?

I do get why people might feel a bit exasperated having to take a test now restrictions have sort of fully lifted.

However, it is somewhat cutting your nose off to spite your face.

They take a few minutes. It's not really worth missing out on going to something nice for the sake of getting wound up by a very quick test.

yeah, i have to do weekly sometimes daily tests at work and wear masks working shifts in extremely hot conditions, and just want normality in my own time.

I’d argue doing the odd test for personal events IS normality.

I’d say it’s the new normal and should think it will be for some time to come

Applause for the club for prioritising engagement with the fans.
Appropriate that they are taking reasonable steps to manage the COVID risk.
I will be supporting by not attending on this occasion as I'm not willing to take a test for a recreational activity.
I see the bigger (comparative) societal risk as buying into the idea of a bio-security underclass , and exclusion of sections of society who cannot or don't want to submit to medical procedures to engage in normal activity

Sadly, I suspect this will become the 'new normal' for quite some time and I suspect we will soon find that some things will involve testing for a long time to come. For example, we will no doubt soon have to undergo a test before being allowed to visit someone in hospital.

That self-exclusion by people who don't want to be tested will be like people who repeatedly got stopped for not wearing a seatbelt or crash helmet, as they objected to the government's imposition. Fingers crossed, in a couple of years time, the virus will be less damaging and we'll return to 2019... hopefully.

Hopefully a 2019 return to normal society but not a 2019 return to the football!

Are those who attended more or less optimistic than they were before?

personally very encouraged by what was said, short term and long term vision
by both the manager with regards to untapped areas for talent , how he wants for the pitches to be improved , how he wants to develop his own players by more of a closer system with development squads
how the board want to create a longer running partnership with the uni

only down side for me was that although sam will stay as captain his future is unclear as there must be people chatting in his ear about other opportunities and bigger pay packets
but thats football
