Would do a good job for us, but if devitt re-signs then I can't see jim signing another player in that position when we already have wildig Fleming and molyneux who can all play there. Will be a good signing for someone in league 2 next season tho !

He'll sign for another League 1 club surely?

It doesn't sound like Fleetwood released him, more that he was out of contract and has decided to move on rather than stay, similar to the situation we're facing with Miller & Devitt.

Hope he has better luck than Fleetwood's David Ball who left to search for pastures new but returned cap in hand 'cause he couldn't agree terms with any other club.

Not sure how good he's been this season. I remember him playing well in a few games I saw him play whilst fleetwood we're in league 2 tho. Pretty sure they signed him from Chester too, just goes to show if you look around the lower divisions you can find talent out there instead of crying about budgets saying we can't compete with anyone in our league !

The problem being that whilst you are right in that there are players in non league that will do a job for us these players tend to cost money. Halifax and Fleetwood both paid transfer fees for Vardy, Fleetwood paid a fee for Sarcevic, we paid fees for Duffy & Baker for example. I'd be amazed if Jim wasn't aware of players such as Vardy & Sarcevic, the difference being we can't compete when clubs are expecting to be paid a transfer fee.

It's a bit different trying to pick out players from non league for free that can do a job rather than identifying the top talent and having to fork out a transfer fee for them because every one with half a brain can tell they are good players.

Agreed, they paid Chester for him. He was on lots of clubs radar in the North but Fleetwood were hoovering up talent for money at the time and took a gamble.

Has left Bolton to sign for money bags Stockport County. Rumours of a bust up with Evatt and they play each other in the FA Cup 1st round

Amazing! Didn't Stockport get where they are today by getting players above their station and paying too much?? :?
