I think he is highly regarded as a referee by the Football League but he is one of those who thinks the game is all about him. Must be the worst referee imo at the Mazuma this season and we have had a few poor ones.
The funny thing is, when he got sent to us, when due to ref the Blackpool game, who were at least one, possibly two leagues above us at the time, he had a really good game. I've just been on the Wycombe forum and one of their fans wrote of Gregg's yellow card, 'high foot or low head? Yellow seems harsh.'. That was the first foul from Gregg, while their lad was on about five!
It's always interesting looking at opposition forums after a game. Fair play to Wycombe fans, very little 'we should be beating teams like Morecambe' posts and a few questioning why we're in a relegation battle when we've been so good against them in both games... ...although part of that answer is, like in the game at their place, we can play well but lose too often.
I liked this post in particular...
Morecambe are a decent side, little bit of stardust with Cole Stockton and the rangy number 17 - Ayunga had an excellent game today. They’ve turned over Lincoln, Wednesday, Us and drawn with Charlton among others at home.
They remind me of us a little a few seasons back, punching above their weight and if you’re not at the races they are decent enough to punish you. Credit where it’s due and all that.
I can see that, and I reckon they are a good club for us to emulate. Keep gently & steadily improving & growing.
