Get Coley in!

Get Coley in!

OK folks, assuming Robbo is recent history who would we really really want to take his place?

I'm not suggesting anyone can save our league one place with the incredibly difficult run of fixtures we have coming up but we have to look forward at who can do a great job for an ambitious club like ours in the future .

Coley has mentioned numerous times when interviewed that he still has an affinity for our club and goes back a long time with Rod Taylor, so the contact is still there. He has done a tremendous job for Stanley over the years bringing them up from non-league and I don't think any of us can say we haven't been impressed with their performances against us over the past 20 years or so.

He has left Stanley before (for Rochdale). OK it didn't work out but he's shown he's not averse to trying something new.

Anyway I've thrown my hat in the ring, it's Coley for me

I love Coley and it is a nice idea but surely it is a non starter. Has the keys to the Palace at Accy and the full support of everyone involved. They have just named their new bar after him and he will soon have a shiney new training ground. He is a Morecambe legend for us old enough to remember but he is on another level over there.

Yes agreed, perhaps just a dream on my part. Always loved Coley ever since he used to sit at the bar under the main stand at CP after games and have a drink with us, usually after bagging a goal or two. Such a down to earth guy with a great Scouse humour. What an absolutely great manager he's made too. Not quite a one club man but not far off. Ah well it will probably remain a dream on my part.

Love the guy for what he did as a player but no way would I want him as our manager. Despite what he has done at Accy he hasn't got 100% support of the fans who many do not like his tactics despite the backing of his chairman financially.

As I said before, we need to test the water( nothing ventured nothing gained )
Reasons
Forget his time at Rochdale, he’s had some fantastic sides at accy, developed and sold some outstanding players
Knows about every player in league 1,2,National league, National league North ,Northern Pemier, ( league1,2North West Counties, Welsh Premier, Cymru Alliance etc etc
Absolute Morecambe Legend ( loves the club)
Only manages successful sides
Highly respected throughout the game
He’s 59 , might want one more challenge before
he calls it day

His football could be deemed ugly by some of the purists who prefer style over substance.

Worth a punt. He might just be tempted. However, he wouldn't want to leave Stanley in the shit and I doubt our board would be willing to pay the compensation

I spoke to Coley the night Harvey dropped him against Halifax, ( he never played for us again ) said he would come back one day to manage us, I've been hoping ever since !
