I don't think he had a bad game. When did he last play 90 minutes? I felt he worked hard, considering the conditions too. He got pulled about, without protection. With some better feed, he may well be the answer, if Cole is 'ill' for a few games. Give Obika four games before we judge him too harshly.

So how did that work out then?

Obika did ok for me. He gassed after 60 minutes but he did compete against a physical Fleetwood defence. He has a decent touch and positions himself well. The problem for me is that after his hamstring injury, he is unwilling to sprint. He isn't mobile enough to move a defence about and is easily contained. He isn't a long term answer for Cole but he is the best we have with our main man dipping and as long as he has a red shirt on, we should back him.

Obika isn’t the answer! Not good enough.

Sorry red shrimp but you can`t judge if Obika is good enough on yesterday`s performance

He played and worked for 90 mins in 32 degree heat (give the guy a chance) !!

Yes he might not get 25 goals this season but thats pretty rare especially for a Morecambe player

Wasn't judging him on yesterdays performance alone, I have judged him on the games last season as well when he came off the bench and was non existent, apart from one half decent cameo against Gillingham.I hope he proves me wrong.

Would never begrudge Cole a move if it was to say a Championship club or even a league one club with realistic promotion asperations. Fleetwood or Shrewsbury would be more of a sideways step than anything. It sounds like he probably expected some big offers to come in (as did all of us) and now that hasn't happened he's panicking and trying to force through anything.

Willing to give him the benefit of the doubt if he is truly ill but if it comes to light he's faked it then get rid asap.

It's all over Twitter mate. Good chance of them announcing a double whammy of Cole and Carlos.

Personally I think it stinks, I really thought carlos would come back to Morecambe on loan and as for Cole, I would understand moving to a better club to improve, but Fleetwood.... can only be money ..

CMG might of not had a say in it, and for all we know DA might not of been interested.

No announcements of any signings at Fleetwood concerning our Cole and 'our' Carlos BUT an announcement of a new goalkeeper. Maybe the speculation concern both above is just that....speculation.

Will be interesting to see what our team will be v Bolton.
