Oxford v Morecambe

Oxford v Morecambe

Too soon to say it is a 'must win game'?

Well, yes. But at the same time, as you look at where we can pick up points, Oxford isn't an obvious one. But they are on an awful run, so we really need to. The defence is looking good, but it can't be placed under pressure for a full game without cracking.

I wonder if Connolly & Hunter would work as a two up front? Hunter has the skill and Connolly has the pace, so they could cause defences problems. I don't know if Cooney has had a bust up with Derek, but how he's not getting any pitch time, I don't know.

Not a hope of it happening, but I'd like to see:

__________________Ripley___________________
_______Delaney____Bedeau______Rawson______
Cooney______________________________Gibson
_____Weir________Fane______Gnahoua________
__________Hunter______Connolly_____________

Perhaps Taylor in there instead of Weir? Fane to do the dirty work in the middle. Gibson & Cooney can both defend and get forwards. There's pace & skill in midfield & attack. Centre three at the back are solid.

So how did that work out then?

Not so much 'must win' as 'must score' maybe!

Don't worry. I'll be there for my first match of the season so we'll come away with something

I agree. Like I said, "not a hope of it happening".

And anyway, who knows, Cole may have recovered by Saturday!
