First 10 games (this season / last season)

League after 10 games doesn`t make good reading compared to last season......

This season - P 10 W 1 D 4 L 5 F 7 A 18 Pts 7/30

Last season - P 10 W 4 D 2 L 4 F 17 A 14 Pts 14/30

Fixture wise was a little easier in first ten games last season but we are still 7 points worse off at this stage compared to last year !!!!

October is another very tough month as well

Accrington (a)
Ipswich (h)
Burton (a)
Barnsley (h)
Cheltenham (a)
Wycombe (a)

Personlly think we need at least 6 points minimum from the October fixtures

I think we need 9 points from October but I'm not sure where we are going to get them. Burton and Cheltenham are the most obvious but a win at Accy would be a good start! ;)

Why is it still shocking people that this league is horrible and we are really up against it again this season? The 5 subs change has gone against the smaller clubs this season and the bigger clubs have spent big once again.

Staying up in L2 was deemed a massive achievement but the same people are unhappy we are fighting in L1.

I am not unhappy where we are in the league but it would just be nice to maybe attack a little bit more

The opposition is a lot tougher than league 2 but we are just too negative at times

I understand that and at times i agree that it can be a hard watch but what else can we do? Robbo went at teams and was attacking minded but we were picked off easily. We can't match up with 90% of the clubs in this league, even Fleetwood and Accrington are well ahead of us on and off the pitch.

Losing Hunter and Melbourne has hit us hard.

It was after Robinson's first 10 matches that things started going pear shaped.

What were the results of his next 10 league games ?

Didn't we win 1 out of 24 after the 1st ten games, people are seeming to forget this. We did have a decent start under Robbo, but things soon went sour and we couldn't buy a win until Derek returned.

I think comparisons with x point last season etc are always going to be a bit clunky. Completely misses a lot of context.

I think promotion bounce and Stockton's ridiculously good form played pretty big factors in our good start last season. Losing Lavelle that late in the window with no proper replacement weakened us majorly, and then after a few more weeks the results really started to take a big dip (in line with some pretty shoddy underlying numbers). In fairness to Robinson, he fully identified what was going wrong and rectified it in January, then left just as performances were starting to get really quite good. Adams came in, had big teething problems trying to stick out with that 3-5-2, and then got it right going 4-3-3 against Burton following the international break.

I think we will pick up 1-2 away wins in October but its hard to see where the home results will come from against so many ex-prem teams who are mostly in the top six. Hopefully we can beat Accy and Burton and then a couple of draws too. Only 1-2 good results away from getting out of the drop zone.
