Just heard Yesterday that Danny Carltons contract will not be renewed at Carlisle Utd.Sammy u need to resign him hes a LEGEND at M.F.C.and a fans favourite at Christie Park and would be nice to see him play a part in our last season at Christie. And if possible try and get Scott Mcgleish from wycombe as hes been told he can leave at the end of july on a free-transfer.We need goals and a right back.

He might be a legend but his goal scoring record doesn't make him the 20 goals a season man that we need.

Boulding and Lowe are the type that we need to get anywhere near the 20 goals e needed.

Interesting that Sammy is looking for a replacement right back. Somebody who can cross a ball properly maybe?

;) ;) ;)

Not sure I agree with that, they're both the wrong side of 30 and one comes with extra baggage in the form of a more-rubbish brother.

Lowe is three years younger than Jack Lester and still looked fit and hungry last season.

Cheshire-based so travel wouldn't be a big problem.

Boulding - I'd worry about. Great player on his day but I wonder if he's treading water until retirement now. Family not short of money and not done much at Bradford, in a decent side that would have provided him with enough chances.

i think SM is planing H McStay to be the future right back, He's played there all is career, and we do have plenty of cover in the middle of defence

I don't think your right on that. Sammy said he had cover for Yates's departure in McStay and Parrish but that he was looking for someone who would take Yate's place. Probably someone who can deliver a quality ball into the box. mmmmmmmmmmm wonder if he has any names in mind ;)

Firstly, it's not a replacement full back but a wing-back. That should help a few people get closer to what you're on about. And yes I've heard the same. I think its possible but injuries seem to be a big problem.

If we've got McStay at right back, what cover do we have in the middle?

Theres Parrish who could possibly play there but no one else :?

I dont think Sammy sees either Henry McStay or Andy Parrish as a replacement for Yates. He is looking for a wing back with the ability to cross a quality ball. Not too many of them around but who knows it could be ..................... ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Henry and Andy are likely to be auxiliary defenders to fill in as and when required due to suspensions injuries etc

I can't see why Sammy doesn't look for a left wing back and play Wainwright/Duffy on the right where they belong.

well one thing we can all agree on is, it's looks 99% likely we are going to stick with the 3 defenders & 2 wing-backs for next season

and like they say "if it's not broke then why fix it"

Because we dont score enough goals and that is something that needs fixing  and it wouldn't matter if we had Torres and fkin disgraceful Drogba as strikers if we cant get the ball to them they aint going to score . ;)

couldn't agree more, Ive said this umpteen before on here, even saying somebody like R Howe with decent wingers supplying him would have been on 20+ goals a season

but for me even with the players we had this season if we had played the same system from the start of this season gone, Ive no doubt we would be in the play-offs now

so with decent replacements ie. a proper left footed attacking player getting first time crosses in, and Duffy/Wainwright on the right running at defenders getting quality first time crosses in, i expect a serious promotion push next season

Steady Tiger!

Same again would be a real achievement.

Until we get more income coming in regularly we are always going to struggle to attract the players we need to make a concerted promotion push, competing with better-supported teams.

Not saying it's impossible but take it as a massive bonus if we get anywhere near promotion.

I would love to see any of these players next season playing for us - pawel abbot, liam hatch, danny carlton or michael boulding (two out of them four would be excellent) also lawrence wilson the full back from chester would be a decen addition
