After listening to Derek's post match assessment of the game today, I think it is obvious that he thinks we're doing as well as we possibly can, when we lose 1-0 to another relegation threatened side. We've failed to beat Oxford or Cambridge too. Three 'must win' games, two draws, one defeat, zero wins. We mustered seven shots on target and only two goals, compared to the opposition creating twenty-three shots on target.
But we're playing well, apparently?
We've now got the difficult games to come! Clearly, Derek will carry on, stubbornly sticking with what he thinks is working. Barnsley will know exactly how we play and will be more than ready for us. They could name eleven outfield players and not bother with a goalkeeper, and still beat us.
So perhaps we should just say, enough is enough? Thank Derek for getting us here, but put us all out of our misery. Paying him up to the end of the season, but not replacing him won't cost the club anything. John McMahon & Barry Roche as caretaker managers until the end of the season, and let them try something different. We're going down anyway, so let's see if a different approach can fluke a couple of wins somewhere?
We've tried the same approach game after game, and not had any success. Try something different.
Or, go out of League One with a whimper, because staying in League One, the club have "illusions [sic] of grandeur" apparently?

So how did that work out then?
