How long do we wait before we call a second meeting?

An announcement from the club on Season Ticket sales would be good. Even if sales are poor it could be used as a rallying call for people to get behind their club.

If there is a 2nd meeting could they arrange it for The Mazuma. Logistically the best place to hold it with car parking etc and puts some money in the till.

I'd imagine a neutral venue would be used, if a further meeting is required. Learning the lessons of the lack of lift at the Exchange it probably wouldn't be held there. Maybe the cricket club, as that has historical links with the Football club (I think that's where the club was founded and played their first matches).

It's also not a good look sitting in the function room in the Mazuma with people potentially bad mouthing the current owner/potential new owner or even the Board.

I can think of no reason for anyone bad mouthing the board who are running the club. I would have thought any bad mouthing would rightly be aimed at Del and Rodders , also PMG for originally allowing his shareholding to fall into the wrong hands.

The cricket club would be fine , lots of car parking and the historical link for MFC with Woodhill Lane.

How anybody has the temerity to bad mouth are current BoD is beyond me. :o

IF the current bidder takes over and installs his own people on the Board :( and sees the likes of Rod and Co shown the door after all they have had to put up with over the years and in particular the last 2 years or so when monies have been channeled OUT of OUR club needs to be careful of what they wish for going forward.

Nobody is perfect and constructive criticism is fine but just to bad mouth people and groups with no justification is simply not on......and shows a distinct lack of manners and appreciation of what the BoD have and continue to do to the best of their abilities

Not saying it will happen however the potential is there.
Having witnessed some of the misplace anger/frustration that the Trust members had to field at the last meeting, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Is he 'Right Honourable'? How did that happen? I'm pretty sure he's only 'Honourable'?
Bonus points for knowing the difference! 8-)

Right honourable are members of the Privy Council. Bonus point please.

Point duly awarded! I don't think Morris has ever had a position that resulted in becoming a Privy Councillor. I'm sure he would have told us if he did!

I think that now an explanation has been given, reassuring us that the pawn-brokers can't take money out of the club, and us needing to break even, it would be foolish not to have meetings at the Mazuma. We need every penny we can scrape together. I think some board members are also Trust members, so if held at the Mazuma, we may see them in attendance too? Pretty sure no-one would be complaining about the board.

I would like to hear that we have at least got a budget in place for next season and that we can look at signing players (if we have a manger).

Maybe people are holding off buying season tickets because at the moment noone has told us if there will be a next season.

There are still too many unanswered questions.

Everything gone quiet again! Season ends officially on 28 May, Transfer window open 14 June but clubs cannot sign players until 1 July.

To me there are only three possible scenarios presently. 1) EFL are still waiting for satisfactory documentation 2)They've passed Sarbjot but the price has not yet been finally agreed 3) They've not passed him. I find it hard to believe that number 1 applies but, if it does, then the relevant docs are never going to be lodged. To me that only leaves 2 and 3. If the Board have not yet been told it is an absolute disgrace.

Nobody can run a football club in circumstances like these

My gut feeling is no further documentation has been received. The source of the funds would make interesting reading I suspect.

Reply from David Morris MP....

Thank you for contacting me regarding the ownership of Morecambe FC.

As a fan of the club myself, I fully understand the supporters frustrations with the uncertainty surrounding the current ownership and what this means for the club going forward.

Unfortunately, as the club is a private business, it falls outside my remit of responsibility and I have no authority to assert in such matters,

As Morecambe FC is in the English Football league their operations are in some part answerable to the rules of the EFL and any ownership takeover has to be approved by the EFL via their fit an proper persons test. I have therefore written to the EFL to both share with them the views of the many concerned constituents who have contacted me and also to understand what conversations they have had with the club and the status of any proposed takeover.

I will be monitoring this situation closely and make you aware of any responses I receive.

Yours Sincerely,

David Morris MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale

Wonder how many fans suggest they support a club without being able to attend matches.....

I support Man Utd as my second club after MFC obviously but I haven't been to Old Trafford for over 50 years.
