Some of the rooms were looking in a sad state I remember Sgt Major putting a lot of time and money into the upstairs so was sad to see them looking a bit run down.
It was interesting to hear that the football club charge the pub £2500 to be the designated away pub makes me wonder if it's really worth it as most go to the Hurley Flyer anyway.

Plus VAT don’t forget which at 20% is another £500 so basically it’s £3000 because I doubt they can claim it back IMO that’s a hefty charge to be an away supporters pub. I notice he quoted last seasons away support (don’t blame him because it’s true) but this will drop significantly this season so I guess the York have opted against it as not viable especially as Alex’s eyes popped out when he quoted that lol Showed us in a good light tho so well done all but the York was in a very sorry state although marked improvements at the end and with further work could make a very good but budget establishment

They will be V.A.T. registered so will be able to claim the £500 as a V.A.T. input and deduct it when they make their V.A.T. payment to HMRC.

If the bigger coach party type hotels between The Clocktower and The Strathmore Hotel haven't been returned to General Public use before then, then I doubt that the Eden North project will have a future.
And as Lancashire County Council and Lancaster City Council have an interest in the Eden North Project, how about replacing that ripped-up rag of a Union Jack from the flag staff on Morecambe Town Hall and replacing it with a new plastic coated Union Jack that will fly proudly.

The Home Office have given notice to The Strathmore that their contract ends on 31 January 2024 so it will be returned to general public use after that date. I would think it will need a deep clean as soon as vacated.
I don't know if the Home Office are still using that dreadful Ibis/Travel Lodge Hotel in Lancaster.
