We went to Blackpool today to see some league 1 action. Blackpool weren't amazing but dominated possession however Shrewsbury were shocking. They were like us playing away last season I can't remb a shot on target from them. Considering they are not in the bottom 4 I think our team this year would easily beat them and we could hold our own against the bottom sides in league 1.

I was just thinking something similar the other day.

Last season teams like Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday were in a different class to most of EFL1.

This season there seems lots of very average sides and very few exceptional teams. I think our present squad maybe with a couple more signings would survive.

Our present squad might but at the end of this season we will lose our loanees 3 of whom have been very good and will take some replacing. If the ownership question is not sorted out I fear we could also lose Derek and that would put us in a very different position even in League 2. We are doing better than any of us would have dared to hope but we are not out of the woods yet. Perhaps we should put the past behind us and not look too far ahead....just enjoy the present while it lasts. :D

I think Shrewsbury may recall Tom Bloxham back to their ranks judging from their performances and how he is playing for us.

We may lose Mellon to an EFL1 club if he adds to his double figures in goals.

If we do I have full confidence in The King finding good replacements. The key for us is keeping Derek so that club sale needs to go through as soon as possible.
