Adam Smith...The Wanderer.

Adam Smith...The Wanderer.

Postby redrobo » Wed Nov 29, 2023 3:42 pm

I'm going to buy Adam a map so that he knows the direction back to his goal as he goes on yet another wander up to the half way line. :D

Sooner or later he's going to get caught out by an opposition team player and go for a spectacular effort from the half way line.....remember what Cole did v Fleetwood. :?: :?: :?:

Smith is far too casual for me and we need to find a replacement in the transfer window as our first choice keeper Moore by a country mile is out until March at the earliest.

Anyone who is having a go at Smith needs to take a look at Onana at Man United

Onana is abysmal and has probably knocked united out of champions league on his own

Cost £50M ish to sign Onana on a 5yr deal at £100K a week, half of what De Gea was on . We probably spent £50

Maybe, but Onana isn't costing us points every single game!

I don't think whoever had been in goal at Wrexham would have made any difference to the result.

The 4th goal was poor keeping IMHO but the result was not in doubt by then.

I'm slightly surprised we haven't brought in another keeper yet, even if it's just as backup. I'd be very nervous having to throw the academy lad in. Imagine our budget doesn't stretch past free agents so could get someone who is free whenever.

Our form as dipped since the Stuart Moore injury, see the results.

however we have to get behind our Number 2 Adam Smith, to try and help his confidence in the meantime untill our Number 1 is back or the transfer winow.

Not allowed to, unless he's a free agent or we get an injury

Joe Lewis has been released from Aberdeen, so he probably got a decent pay-off and might consider a cheap contract with us? Be a return to the club he played for at the start of his career, and he had a happy time. Unless he's stopped playing due to an injury, it may be worth a punt?

So how did that work out then?

That's what I mean, unless a keeper terminates his contract with his current club and joins us for free in January then there's no reason we can't pick up a free agent now.

Just looking at our squad though, looks like we have space for one more loan in the match day squad so we could be holding out for January to get a keeper loaned in.

Not sure what the rules are for an emergency loan but with Moore out for months, do we not qualify for that? Use this period to get an emergency loan in as a sort of trial and if it goes well, loan them for the remainder of the season come January?
