You can't force people to go if they don't want too. Performances on the pitch and good results will soon get people paying attention ! Unlucky not to take 3 points today what would of give us a bit of breathing space. Can't fault the performances of late tho considering what's going on off the field !

Couldn't make today due to work. I quick survey at work had price as the main reason for our poor crowds. When I asked what people thought the cost of standing in the home end should be, most said a tenner.

Yet when the club experimented with making it £10 entry a few years ago we saw hardly any difference in attendances.

If the reason really is that people think our prices are too high there is no way I can see us surviving. Lower prices would have to pull in a lot bigger crowds. Let's be honest, our management and players wages must be in the bottom half of League 2 so how are we supposed to find the money to pay better wages to attract better players?
The last few posts say to me that our rightful place is in the Conference but if/when we drop crowds would probably get worse unless we started winning straight away.

Might be true but that would apply to many clubs today, even in the top flight.

2,900 at Blackpool which considering their league position is poor but the Oyston boycott will have had an effect.

Once a Premiership club now in the wastelands of League 2 has had a serious effect. Makes our continued gates of circa 1400 even more credible in my opinion.....

Very frustrating today.
I presume Turner was either injured or ill.
Interesting to start with Wildig up top as a striker. Bizarre.
Far more effective when in midfield in the second half, with Mullin ahead of him.
So unlucky not to score, especially Molyneux's shot.
Fleming brought down, penalty for me, but of course, when will any referee give little Morecambe anything?
Commitment and effort can't be faulted, fans in the Omega Stand were in good voice, and a point gained against teams around us, most of whom lost today.
The battle goes on....

As has been said it was a bizarre starting line up, so much so that I made a late change to my prediction replacing win with defeat. Turner was a big loss, hope it's nothing serious as he has become one of our best players.

First half we really struggled which was no shock given we were playing two strikers of which neither were strikers. Also a back five (3 CB, 2 WB) doesn't play to our strengths given our defending is appalling and our wing backs arent great going forward. Crewe dominated and missed chances/Barry made some decent saves. Strangely we benefited from McGowans late first half injury as we brought Mullin on and moved Wildig back. We dominated the second half, had numerous near misses most notably Molyneux hitting the bar. Fleming MOTM for me. Tenacious, battling effort from him combined with plenty of quality on the ball.

A point gained or two dropped? I'm not sure but if our recent performances are anything to go by we should pick up plenty of points this year.

Mullin didn't offer much or look particularly interested which was a shame, as we're going to need much more from him over the coming months...

Disagree completely John. He might not be the best player but he works hard and gives 100% and changed the game for me if only for that presence and movement up top. It might not be affective most of the time, but he isn't afraid to run at people and give them something to worry about. Before that we could have played all day and never got out of our half.

I too thought there looked a lot more than 1722 on.

Shame, as the ones who couldn't make it missed a great game in my opinion.

Next weeks opponents Notts County got walloped again today so bring them on next Saturday!

Sorry to keep picking you up on things Neil, but today 1400 is ''creditable'' , and the day before yesterday it was ,not enough compared to Christie park in another post, whats you're real position on this because you are confusing us?

Credible under the current home performances....

Start winning and top of the league and providing entertinment then gates would be circa 2000.

My take on todays game was that barry made some great saves to keep us in the match. Crewe played some good stuff and we seemed to be lethargic, but as the game wore on we got ourselves together, lead by flemmo who i thought was mom. End to end footy by both sides made it a tense game and when the ref, who i thought had a good game, blew for full time, I was glad of the point especially when hearing other results.
