The rules of the competition limit the number of changes you can make - your team for an EFL Trophy must game must feature a certain number of players from your previous fixture or the following fixture. You can incur fines for making wholesale changes.

Didn't someone substitute their goalkeeper after about 2 minutes in order to comply with the rules?

Prediction? Meaningless pre-season friendly against an under 21 side? 420 in attendance, with 35 from Leicester, 18 of them parents of players.

Score? I neither know nor care, but as there's a bit of cash involved, 2-0 hopefully (what combination of results do we need to fluke our way to the next round?)

So how did that work out then?

The most important thing IMO is not to pick up any injuries.
I remember Alex Kenyon getting injured against Stoke, last season I think it was, and he was out for a couple of months.

Absolutely! If we can beat Leicester and Fleetwood can beat Carlisle, by enough goals combined to swing the goal difference in our favour. It's not impossible... ;)

Fleetwood 6
Carlisle 3
Leicester 3
Morecambe 0

Carlisle are +1 and we are -3
If Fleetwood beat Carlisle and we beat Leicester it will go down to goal difference for second place - I presume

If we win by say 2 goals our GD goes to -1
If Fleetwood beat Carlisle by 2 goals theirs is -1 also

As Fleetwood play Carlisle later this month they will know what they need to do if anything.
