Well, if he hadn't tweeted, not many of us would have been any the wiser, maybe he just doesn't want to play tomorrow

Surprised that Kevin acted in that way, but as we know he likes a joke now and then and I wonder if it was just him having a bit of a laugh by posting the picture as he did. I'd like to think that if there was a REAL problem then he would have made a direct approach and not via this forum.

Sounds to me as though there has been an admin cock up at the Bank and NOT at our end. These things can happen at any Bank especially when it's used to us being in the red and not the black.

Banks follow instructions and if the instructions to pay are wrong, they don't pay. I don't expect it's the fault of the bank but it's refreshing to see a prompt statement from the club.

Thank you Gone_Shrimping but I don't understand whatever language you speak. I don't believe the bank has made a mistake, nor would anyone who understands the automated BACS payment process. I'll guess that the BACS instructions were either entered late or for the wrong date and players were paid manually when this was noticed today. After last month I hoped someone from the club would login & check the account this morning, before players thought about social media.

Kev has been paid late at least five times to my knowledge at MFC and in circumstances that threatened his livelihood. Criticising him at Christmas when he had bills to pay and doesn’t see the money in his account, yet again, is hardly fair.

We seem prone to clerical errors at the moment (if only we had an accountant with payroll experience as Chairman), but rather that than bugger all in the bank.

Kev posts on twitter.

Fans go mental

Suddenly money found and paid

Coincedence?

Still - they got paid on the right day. So progress all round.

Surely the money did not need to be found , we were told at both the AGM and the Fans' Forum that the bank overdraft had been paid off.

I've done payrolls for RTI (Real Time Information) on behalf of businesses and as you prepare the wages you enter the date that you want the payment to be be made.

For this to happen 2 months running is beyond belief.

I think they should all be cut a bit of slack, the new people obviously want to avoid interest charges incurred by overdraft fees and interest, Xmas is a funny time with banks, one of my customers has asked me to wait for payment till Monday because a cheque hasn't cleared yet, we stillgrind to a standstill for nearly 2 weeks because everyone uses "admin on holiday" as an excuse to pay late, Kev was within his rights to have a go, but the money has gone in , so no harm done, and a statement was issued which is nice..

It's wrong to say there was a shortage of money. For it to be resolved so quickly, the money is very likely to have been sat there.

As with many things at our club I don't think we are getting the true story of the players not being paid on time for the second month running. It looks to me its more than a clerical error. Are we sure funds are in place for two years as we were told or have we to scrape around to find the money month by month ?

Why do you want to know? I think the players getting paid (which is awful obviously and should not happen - I process many payrolls myself) a day or two late but in the same month is not the end of world. If it carried over until the beginning of the next month would be a problem as many people's direct debits go out on the first. If any players have big bills going out at the end of the month they should move the dates.

I don't particularly want or need to know, simply saying if an employee hadn't brought this up in public we wouldn't have to drag all this up again

We are so quick to find fault at anything that may go wrong at our club...

Any chance that as we are about to enter a New Year that we can give the new owners and the Board a wee bit of slack... :?:

Players not being paid is becoming a joke, and now that the owners themselves are insisting to everyone that we are ‘completely stable’, there’s really no excuses left for late payments.

Kevs lighthearted tweet was perfectly reasonable, I can’t believe anyone would make out that he’s the one in the wrong here.

P'ah! If Kev had received my mobile phone bill for last month, then he'd have something to moan about!

After three weeks, during which they said there wasn't a mistake, I've got no-where and was told it would be next Friday before it would be sorted. Had a Facebook rant yesterday. As a result, got told the email contacts of the top Isle of Man guy & Chief Exec of the entire organisation. Had emails from both over night and an email from the complaints manager at 9am promising it will be resolved by close of business on Monday.

Doesn't your internet down under still make high pitch squeaking noises when you first connect? 8-)
