I have to say I disagree with quite a few people here. I think that Jim is a good manager and has proven that at this level, but just like the players in L2 he's inconsistent. I believe he's good at bits of his job but poor in other areas.
Jim has signed some really good players, ones capable of getting us in or around the playoffs in my opinion. That's testament to his eye for talent and his character in being able to bring them here. However, I think he lets himself down on his team selections and his (and his staff's) ability to coach them into better players.
I feel frustrated that a player like Mullin hasn't been played regularly enough (especially when redshaw was here), and by that I mean week on week for a few months. As a result he doesn't have the confidence of a main striker now that Redshaw has gone. So we sign Miller, who hits the ground running and is banging in goals for fun, but all of a sudden keeps getting dropped. I know that occasionally players need to be dropped and they may not be as effective against certain oppositions. However, they feed on confidence and want to be playing in every game. When they're not, they lose their way.
It's frustrating to see as I think Mullin could have been so much better, but I also fear Miller will end up the same way. That is just an example, but it's right across the park. I fear that too much tinkering will eventually cost Jimbo his job, and that would be a great shame as he is better than that.
HOWAY THE SHRIMPS!!!!!
