An elderly chap who looked like ''grandad'' off the song ''grandad we love you'' , had a 10 minute long indescernable grumble about ''being kicked out by someone who doesn't work there anymore, and said he loved ken and jim, that was constructive :)

I felt the opening statement from PMG answered a lot of the questions before they were even asked and deffused what was potentially going to be a more volatile forum than it turned out to be, I don't know if that was his intention or not but in my opinion that was the effect it had.

Agreed Steve, some would say , a professional performance from a very experienced MD, totally adept at taking things like this in his stride, a cynic could possibly think it was a carefully managed public relations exercise, rather than a fans forum

What was discussed regarding improvements behind the Omega and potential fans involvement in this?

unlike previous forums nothing was promised, MD said it would cost 140k to put a bar there and that a temporary structure was not really an option as league regulations state it would have to shelter 30 per cent of the stands capacity.

PMG did say that this was the sort of project the new investor(s) would be taking on , I think he said "bricks and mortar".

Well if £140K is the target, why aren't we working towards raising that figure? Nearly 20 years ago fans managed to raise money towards the North Stand which cost four times as much. It might take a year or two but at least then we have something to aim for. With a sponsor, possible grant funding, a loan or two from directors or the council I see no reason why it couldn't happen. Surely this is something that really needs to be pushed by the new fans' panel? Happy to put myself forward if necessary to do so.

A yes they are a pound each, ring mark dixon if you want yo buy one.

There was a supplementary question regarding the shares (it was my question)

It was that if fans can purchase shares in the club why not have a deal where if someone buys £220 of shares they receive a season ticket for the next season. If 100 fans in the Omega did that then the club would have £22,000 in the bank , whereas when sold as season tickets nearly £4,000 goes in V.A.T. (There is no V.A.T. on share sales)

Another thing I think it was MD said was if they knew season tickets were going to exceed a certain number (I couldn't hear the number) then they would be able to reduce the cost of them.

As mentioned above, I think PMG prempted some of the more heated questions on here with his opening gambit.

Everything at the moment seems to hinge on the potential investor that club are speaking to coming on board to allow the capital projects the club has drawn up to get off the ground. That includes the bar area behind the goal, and office blocks down the side. We'll have to wait and see if that materialises, but we'll know in the next 2/3 months. The filing of accouns has been delayed after advise from the clubs advisors so these talks can continue. The content of the accounts wont change, the board were saying that its been difficult managing the buiness this season because of events that have transpired resulting in a lack of cash, but no mention of last season or an indication of what the results of that accounting period are likely to be only indications that they will be losses.

Having spoken to PMG after the meeting (he spoke to quite a lot of people) it reaffirmed that a lot of things written on here are well wide of the mark; you'd be under the impression he was about to leave and buy Altrincham if you believed the rumours that get posted.... but he isn't and has only watched The Robins once this season when we weren't playing.

It was an interesting evening, hopefully the suggested fans/board committee to improve match day experience happens which may lead to other things (such as ideas re ticketing which was talked about at length) and generally gives us, the fans, an insight into what is going on behind the scenes.

1)we already have a bar.

2) we just need a permenent roof to the back wall covering 30% of the area.

3) cant see it costing as much as £140K unless it was a Globe construction job.

£140k does seem excessive but until plans are actually made public we can't be sure what is envisaged. There are specialist companies as we all know who do this type of work as their main source of income.Whether they would be cheaper would be interesting to find out once planning permission is granted which may take some time after what we were told last night.

It has to be able to accommodate 30% of the stand capacity so that will mean able to have 600 to 700 people so it is going to be quite sizeable. To do it properly I can well believe it will cost £140k.

If there is potential investment, I for one would rather see it spent on a new player or in breaking the bank to sign Devitt for a year or two more. I would quite happily watch Morecambe play on an open field so roofs and construction comes secondary.

Does the new fans/board committee signal the end of F-Com or will there be different faces involved?

You do sometimes wonder, what planet the people who make rules live on? So it can be cold & wet as it is currently, but put a roof on and it has to cover hundreds of people?

the fanzone marquee behind the james hargreaves stand at turf moor fits at best 300 in , the stand fits around 6000 in.

Didn't MD say that we can't build a temporary structure? Has to be permanent?

Doubt it! Race night tonight (first team squad all attending) stars in their eyes in the calendar, and a supporters tournment on the pitch at the end of the season. Hopefully more people get involved with the committee.... MPH looked like a willing volenteer(?).... they'd be equally welcome as part of helping FCoM - iys not the closed shop it started out being. I suspect however it might be the 'same old faces' trying to assist the club in whatevee way they can.

Your point about player rather than a capital investment is a bit shortsighted IMO.

Extremely short-sighted.

Yes Mark said that any temporary structure could be for 1 game only and then would have to come down.

Very short-sighted.

We need more fans and the present facilities at the Omega Stand just drives them away.

Increase the fan base and we can afford better players. Chicken and Egg.

so anyone else apart from us can have a temporary structure, then why not build an access corridor into the bar under the family enclosure or right through to the globe grill bar.
