Not automatically. Up to the ref if he thinks it was down to conditions, otherwise it stands. No right of appeal against yellow cards either. As it is, it counts.


Unfortunately, it does indeed count...

The main disappointment for Bentley was the yellow card for Michael Rose, his fifth booking of the campaign, which leaves him suspended the visit of Carlisle on Saturday.

Premier League clubs didn't like the fact that for example, Charlie Adam could play in this fixture, get sent off and then be suspended for 3 Premier League games so the EFL caved to their demands and ruled that the EFL Trophy is now a stand alone competition.

This means that any yellow & red cards picked up in the EFL Trophy don't count for any other competition and as a result suspensions that players are serving from being booked / sent off in league fixtures won't be allowed to be served in the EFL Trophy.
