Jim's results are seemingly better when we are down to the "bare bones".

When we have had a squad of 22 results didn't seem so good maybe because some are kicking their heels in the stand not even making the bench. At the moment we have a siege mentality Morecambe against the rest and the players are responding.

Really pleased for young Mullin. He is looking like the player we all wanted Jim to sign when he came pre-season a few years back.

Loooks to me as though young Evans our Everton loanee had an influential hand in both of Mullers goal.s
He also looked as though he's got into the squad ethic and enjoyed his first full FL debut by the way he celebrated Mullers first goal.

Woulld like to hear from those who went if his enthusiasm was a contributing factor in our win.

Just another successful loanee that JIm and Co have unearthed and in this case came from Everton now under the stewardship of the former Man Utd reserve team boss who arranged last seasons loan of the United goalkeeper....wonder if he's got a soft spot for our club and in particular our management team.

Flemmo tidied up and played a very responsible, more restricted role, allowing Evans to get forward. Rose was his usual influential self and we ran the midfield first half.

Second half we coped with their possession well and played well on the break. They didn't trouble Baz much and we could have had a couple more, had two blocked on the line.

Thanks for that appraisal; sounds as though we have a player who could win the aerial battles in midfield, something that for me we have fallen short of in other games over a few seasons.

Look forward to seeing him hopefully v Grimsby.

It's a joy to see us comfortable on the ball and passing it around. Crawley hardly had a look in first half and when they did Baz was there to mop up.
Mullers was fired up, Rose was cool and Evans slotted into our game comfortably, looking interested and to be part of it - obviously he understands our language more than he does at Everton....

Not sure about Winnard at left back with Wakefield at right back and Conlan on the bench, but obviously Jim knows his players.
Shame for me that McGowan hasn't climbed a few more rungs recently, hopefully that may come with a bit more time but progress does seem to have faltered..

Fairly sure Flemmo gave the penalty away, not Wakefield. Just a shame all the goals were at the far end!!

Wakefield was responsible for the pen, he tackled Murphy on the flank on the half way but the ball bobbled away and Murcphy got there first and knocked it down the line, he was going for the return pass and Liam pulled him back in the box, defo a pen!

A definite penalty. Don't know why he did it as it wasn't nailed on that the guy would collect a pass and score.

Ref's never see the off the ball stuff that we have to endure.
