Can you not email your questions to Derek Quinn and he can ask them for you.

The new guys seem nice, a lot of positive stuff, my only reservation was that they are very solid in their support of PMG, I'm not a fan believe it or not, and if he's the chairman I can only think it's because no one else on the board wants to do it .

This was explained , the new company was formed to remove the shares from g50 so they can then be transferred to the new owners, the new owners are negotiating to buy back the facilities from the PMG fiasco receivers, they are going to do their best to improve the match day experience , they have given the manager a reasonable budget and we can expect 4 or 5 new players.

I don't think PMG did his PR any favours tonight. Got a bit snappy and didn't convince he is the best man for the job. I think the fire still burns within Rod.

Impressed with the new guys. Didn't duck anything and seemed pretty honest. Social media is going to be their weapon of choice.

Indeed....he stated that he could tell 3 days after meeting Diego that he had no money, but refused to answer why, in that case, did he sign his shares over to him, hiding behind "legal reasons", he also stated he had never taken any money out of Morecambe football club.

The new owners were very impressive. Enough finance in the club for the next two years with plans to develop the matchday experience. They confirmed they are the majority shareholders with no Burnard or Abdul involvement. Manager's budget has increased and more players likely to sign. Only unconvincing performance was the chairman.

They have their own man who is going to be bringing our social media in to the 21st century. Had his own Events company. They used the example of reducing the admin fee on tickets as proof of being willing to listen.

Both men had a very friendly attitude, were keen to engage, never ducked any questions, were not dismissive, on the defensive or aloof, they assured everyone that lines of communication would be open with supporters and would consider the community with a lot of decisions, they said if they are successful recovering the assets we had lost the possibility of an improved academy was a priority, they want to utilise the wasteland at the front on match days to provide a better experience for families, Jason told me they want it to look like a football club and asked me why there weren't pictures on the walls of former players etc

They said they would finance improvements for at least 2 years, look for a stadium sponsor , one of them liked the name of the stadium, the other wasn't bothered either way, Rod assured us that the improvements in the home end were going ahead, MPG told us that he had put 2.2 million into the club of his own money , I personally think he has a brass neck sitting there as chairman when he has left Rod and Mike to do everything for the last 18 months and would like to see a different chairman as soon as possible, I think most supporters would love ROD TAYLOR FOR CHAIRMAN,,,

Did the new owners explain why they chose Morecambe FC to rescue for want of a better word and invest in ?

It sounds like the new owners came across really well and if they do engage with the fans and community of the club like they say they will this hopefully will improve things on/off the pitch also and bring the club back together with fans that were fed up of the ignorance of the likes of PMG.
it will be an interesting season and hopefully the match day experience will grow which has what has been lacking for many years.

With the recent signings we seem to be a lot more prepared and this must have something to do with the budget available to Jim, would be interesting to know how much this has improved by?

Totally agree with comments about Rod Taylor, he has been an example of leadership required of running a football club and tried his best for the club over the past 18 months of trouble, without him the club could have been in a far worse position.
PMG on the other hand had failed to engage with the fans and instead took the option of hiding away and leaving Rod to take the lead and steady the ship which without his intervention and others who we know about or may not would have sank.
That's the only concerning thing for me is PMG still chairman however the new owners must know/see something we dont

I really hope that there is improvement like they have said as I'm sure I speak for most, it would be nice to start to see some of our great family club back and for the Globe to start feeling like home.

"Why not Morecambe"....one of them joked....they both thought it was a good investment opportunity, liked the town and were offered other clubs once it became known they were interested in investing in football, they also assured us that there is no inyptention to challenge the JB trust , and as such the land in question with the receivers is no use to anyone but MFC.

Oh and Peter said the only reason that the community block etc, was set up as a separate company was because Barclays bank wouldn't lend the club any money , and that we never got as much off Sainsbury's as people think we got.

In my opinion, the fact that PMG presided over the whole ownership mess alone makes his position untenable, he's tried and failed to operate a football league stadium and club , he needs to go.

Sounds an interesting evening and I hope the new owners are good to their word. Only thing I've read that concerns me is their support for PMG. Give full control back to Rod if they want to see how the town can really rally behind them.

I loved it when Jason/Colin said they won't say things and not follow it through.

Horrible flash backs though when links with international and foreign clubs were mentioned.

See he probably has put 2.2million in and without that we would be nowhere near the football league and would probably be something like Hayes, Northwich, Hednesford etc . Looking back we overspent in the conference every year by about £300k which PMG was happy to cover out of his own pocket every year of which we should always be thankful for.

However it now turns out he always had a get out plan to move us make us self sufficient and get his investment back which in theory sounded a good idea we get a self sufficient club, Peter gets his investment back walks away and everyone is happy.

However what happens next is PMG made a complete hash of the move and when we moved stopped engaging with the fans, community etc and like you said he tried and failed to run a football league stadium. Then to top it all off he makes an even bigger mess of selling the club and the whole ownership fiasco.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and if he had been able to walk away a few years ago as planned it would have been best for everyone but now the longer he hangs around the worse it looks and the more bad feeling there is.

Also how are the new owners going to get their changes through if there is a chairman there that doesn't believe in engaging and listening with the fans

I still don't get why he needs to be chairman even if he is owed money from directors loans can he not step back but still be a creditor?

He got a bit of a grilling last night and didn't handle it very well IMO. He came across as a bit spiteful particularly towards one Gentleman who got PMG's name wrong. He lent towards Mr Howse and asked who the Gentleman was.

Totally agree about the new owners being around PMG and his attitude.
