Pathetic. Nailed on to lose next game against Exeter away meaning we will get sucked right into a relegation battle. The mentality and character of the players needs to be questioned as they continue to let the club and its supporters down by throwing games away. We would be a comfortably mid-table if it wasn't for the last minute goals conceded, missing and conceding late penalties. I am abroad and could not attend the game today as I had initially planned too.

One up top is never going to work for us. Crewe got a lucky deflected goal and the 2nd half we played better. I really thought we would win that, I’m gutted.

Bloody stupid. The best way to stop the opposition scoring is to carry on attacking rather than let the opposition back in to it.

They did right, thats what most teams do, i was praising them for trying to run the clock down in the corners, keep the ball.

Think we need to look at how we defened towards the end of games, Dont jump in, just stay on you're feet and hold em.

Always seems to be the same old they got a lucky goal, we dominated the game, we played well, they had one chance and scored etc. The fact of the matter is the players have thrown away far too many points this season and there's a damn good chance we could go down as a result.

We played well and dominated the game  ? It was a fair result in my opinion. They were better first half. We were better second half.

Surely they should have been down to 10 men with the foul on Kev. Last man rule.

The red card for last man was stopped years ago.

Thought some of the fans around the away dugout could of shown David Artell a bit more respect, he was a good servant to Morecambe, one fan swore at him.

That dissipointed me more than the result.

We were the better side but aside from the 2 fantastic goals, our nice play is producing absolutely nothing in the final third. Having said that, after flogging one striker, and another going off injured, we didn't have many options. There also seems to be an attitude of the team not to push forward or get bodies in the box- for instance, when Oates (I think?) broke through in the second half, only Kevin Ellison had managed to reach the box by the time the ball was played in (everyone else just jogged forward).

We definitely didn't test their keeper enough.

Let's hope that the next week or so brings in some much needed recruits because we are sleep walking into a relegation battle here.

We've lost winning positions a few times this season where we've been trying to run the clock down. We have had a few occasions when we were on top and the opposition were under pressure (as today). We then take the tempo out of our own game and give the impetus to the opposition. We were in a very strong position for a run on goal but decided to run the clock down instead. And there we go... AGAIN.

Other teams do it... perhaps. But we clearly can't do it very well. Not for the first time.

Gutted at the result but what do we expect when we play with a single striker, put no pressure on their last man, don't close down their forwards and give away a penalty when we should have managed the game in their half interested final minutes.

Not sure where Oliver was but a single striker was criminal at home. Once again changes for the start which is an on going theme in recent games.

So Kevin score one of his typical goals but do we really have to rely on a near 40 year old with no disrespect to him to get us out of Trouble?

A stupid penalty that was questionable saw us throw away yet another game in the last few minutes.

How many times is that this season.... :?: :?: :?:

One up front,so how come were so bloody useless at defending?Back off, back off,let them attack  Sam Lavelle even tried to attack to show our forward players some passion and how its done, our goalie wants to take ages to realease the ball.Oates ran down the wing to get his cross in and there was seven of our players plus goalie still in our area  .

The law change (as I understand it) is that if the last man has made a genuine attempt to play the ball, it is no longer a straight red. If the attempt wasn't a genuine (ie 'close') tackle, then it is still a red.

It should have been a yellow even if it wasn't a red. We had 3 yellows to Crewe's 0.

Cranston got his yellow for time wasting yet the ref ignored the Crewe player throwing the ball into Oates's face just before that.

I think we're too honest, Oates should have gone down like he'd been shot, rolling around holding his face.

Yup, totally agree. I hate theatricals and trying to get opposition players in to trouble, but we get punished when other teams do it to us, so if the FA won't clamp down on it, then we need to get savvy too. Their penalty was soft, as was the one Kenyon gave away the other week. If our players get knocked & nudged in the area, they try and stay on their feet instead of going down. And we hardly ever appeal to the ref when we are fouled. We get given about 20% of the 50:50 decisions, because we don't appeal while the opposition do, so the ref naturally assumes that with one team appealing and the other not, it must be the team who are making the fuss who were the victims.

Zak Mills has been excellent going forward all season but again today he was caught out on the wrong side of his man (twice at Tranmere) and the push was unnecessary.

If we were supposedly sitting back then that wouldn’t have happened. Just a good ball in that was not properly closed down or defended.

Wasting time in the corner again. Third time this season (at least) where we've done that, then conceded. My heart sank when I saw us doing it (again).
