I think that's a bit unfair! I don't think the attack switch was turned off, it was simply Newport were overloading attack and pinning us back as they were desperate for the equaliser. At one point they had six attackers! Then when they equalised, they went to six at the back! Funniest part of the day was watching their manager & dug-out staff huddled around a mobile phone to see how Exeter were doing, to decide whether they needed another goal or not! When they realised that Exeter were drawing, they instructed everyone to defend (even Podge was in defence!)

I agree re Collins but as I said elsewhere, if he thinks long term, being taken from a reject everywhere to Morecambe top scorer in five months, another season here and he could go to the Championship? Short term or long term career move?

So how did that work out then?

Thought Fleming was excellent and whatever the doctor said /gave to him whilst out injured has certainly rekindled the desire and determination long missing from his earlier days with us. Didn't realise that it's over 10 years since he joined. Surely a testimonial is due.

Once gain very surprised but delighted to see Mark in goals..wonder if that is a clue as to JB's thinking for next season with Baz moving into a coaching role and as back up, if that is the case could it be the end of our current goalkeeping coach....pure speculation once again on my part.... :D :D :D

As for last night 'do' ...the togetherness of the players was brilliant and JB's speech was the crowning glory of what was a superb evening and argues well for our club going forward.

Good to hear the positive thoughts of Rod and let's hope that the desire to increase investment comes to fruition. Interestingly a couple of former Directors were their with Graham Hodgson spending an age in discussions with JB.

Mandy gave a repeat performance of his Stars in their Eyes rendition which was greeted by the entire playing squad joining in in the choruses.

Let's hope we can keep the nucleus of the side next season, With a number of experienced additions next season could be our second attempt at a successful play off competition.

:D :D :D

After cutting through their defence for fun all Collins having 3 or 4 clear chances, you could physically see after 70 odd minutes that we stopped really going at them and the defensive line dropping 10 yards. Yes we had a couple of more attacks but nothing like we had been doing. I felt we invited Newport on rather than them getting at us as we were a class above them for 70 mins.
