Never a red, he was nearer the corner flag than the goal

Deffo a red. What an awful game Sam has had. Even before the red he was out of sorts and giving fouls away. Surprising. He hasn’t had many games like that this season

Lets hope NKP gets fit soon, we'll be missing Songo'o in midfield if he's forced to play CB and even worse if he ends up banned

Was Mellor not covering? Looked like he might have been in a position to make a challenge so not last man?

dont think it was a red card!!

Sam was the last man but in a wide L/B position and the said player would still have had a lot to do with our other C/B in position to cut his run out on goal

I'm only listening today but sounds like we've responded well to the red

Game over I'm afraid

Newport are a very very good side

It's not just today but Lavelle could miss massive games coming up as well

61 yellows and 3 reds makes us the second dirtiest side in the league

He misses one game against Harrogate.

Oh dear. Newport know how to keep the ball well so aren't a good side to going against with 10 men.

I'd be tempted to take Stockton off and throw on Price. Stockton could put in a brilliant hold up performance but we're unlikely to get support to him quick enough with 10 men. I'd argue that we might be better off putting balls in behind/down the channels with Dolan in defence stepping out.

I think if Mellor [?] had been sprinting back towards the goal, there may have been a claim that he wasn't last man, but he was stood with a hand raised calling for off-side. Not blaming him at all, just saying it how I saw it. Soft/silly red that was definitely not needed. Perhaps in the 85th minute of a game, but not first half.

That said, Sam's had a great season so far. One blip.

Real shame that we conceded directly before half-time. Going in level, then frustrating them with the wind behind us, we may have got something but now we need to go for it, to try and get one point, which will leave us vulnerable at the back. Have to hope for an early red card for them when the second half begins.

Bugger.

Sadly I think that's game over.. the weather the wind the pitch and the sending off , just one of those days. Maybe we can still pitch a draw.

Using that theory, D.A. could appeal the red.

Yet another goal conceded just before H/T.

No complaints about the red BUT their penalty was soft even their men didn't claim for it....

Not sure how we can get anything out of this game but our never say die spirit hopefully will get us something.

On the plus side, my chicken, ham & leek pie has arrived, right on half time. Not all doom & gloom.
