If the ref had given a free-lick to Mellon for being pulled back, twice, it wouldn't have got to the point of the second yellow, in the first place. Why do we keep getting crap officials?

What a shambles! Just as we could be getting back into it, Mellon sent off for second yellow. First one was an unnecessary one.
Gillingham were tiring and we were creating chances, now on the ropes.

Songo'o>Smith

We're still playing well and deserve something from this game.

We played well, and deserved something from the game, but the ref decided to get involved, or, more to the point, not get involved when he should have. When will we get refs give a dodgy decision our way?

Well that was a game we deserved to get a point from. We created so many chances but no luck as usual.
Had Mellon stayed on the pitch I think that we were always in with a chance. His first silly booking probably cost us a point. As has been mentioned earlier, we must maintain our discipline.
I still think that we have got a team that will develop with time together.

Quite clearly, not a 'six of one, half dozen of the other'. If their defender isn't pulling Mellon back, he's through, one on one. If the ref gives the foul, then their player is getting the red, not Mellon.

Linesman had a clear view.

Utterly crap officials. Again.

Still think that DA is building a team that will come good. Got to remember that a lot of teams we face have been together for some time whilst ours is almost a new squad.

Not sure if we can appeal about sending off. Maybe we take the punishment and move on. Was he off due to serious play....and was it justified... :?: :?: :?:

Thanks for these freeze-frames. Officials too frequently affect the result with poor or wrong decisions, and Morecambe seem to get more than their fair share of bad decisions. Maybe one for the club to appeal, but you just know the EFL will stick by their officials and extend the ban. It's crap.

Don`t think you can appeal against 2nd yellow

Think you can only appeal against red cards but i may be wrong

As Redalert says, we can't appeal against yellow cards, so it stands, and we now have Mellon suspended for a game. Tuesday's game doesn't count, so he's suspended next Saturday. The first yellow was silly and deserved. The second, probably was a yellow, although I think there were other fouls that were worse, but no booking given, and, obviously, it should never have got that far.

As much as I hate it, I think a more experienced player would have gone down when he felt the tug on his shirt, and force the ref to make a decision, although knowing our luck, the ref would still have booked Mellon, and said he'd dived!

Penalised for staying on your feet.
Clearly not right but as ever the FA will do fook all.
Can't appeal a yellow card, why not
Why can it not be appealed? If it is wrong it is wrong. Why stand for it?

A yellow card is a penalisation against a player. If a player has been penalised you should be offerer a course of appeal.

It's really frustrating. If the officials had done their job, Gillingham would have been down to ten men, at a time when they were under the cosh. Instead, we went down to ten and lose Mellon for our next League match. Love got another yellow, for arguing about Mellon's unfair treatment. Add that to his yellow for taking a throw in, with the same ball that had gone out of play. He's now one yellow away from a suspension.

Great to see us going for the win at the end. Can't help thinking if this was a big L1 team we would be playing for a point instead but I guess Sutton are one of the few teams we play that are smaller, so we go for the win. Really sets things up nicely for two home games
