It lasts nearly 11 Minutes and as usual is excellent from Derek and see if anyone thinks that Derek is hinting about the ownership issue being resolved soon :?: :?:

I'm afraid I didn't interpret it that way, neither positive or negative regarding change of ownership just that everyone is working towards that end.

The latest couple of interviews following Saturday's away win and leading up to the Accy game are well worth the time taken to listen to both. See the OWS for details.

Both DA and David Tutonda have positive things to say and show a high level of professionalism in the way that they talk and answer the questions posed by the Radio Accrington reporter.

It's interesting that the way DA allows players to be interviewed which many other managers refuse to allow. For me that shows the level of trust and belief that DA has in his players and I for one find that approach welcoming and gives us an insight in the make up of our current squad members.

The latest interview , Tim Padfield talking with The King is now on BBC Lancashire's sport twitter.

He is very positive about new owners coming in and he says with a twinkle in his eye they are "from afar" so not a local consortium.

He mentions the potential Morecambe FC has with season tickets going from 650 to 2,500 , the lowest wages budget and smallest squad in the league being a "blank canvas" for the new owners. He mentions the car wash side having a stand built there and that the club can go from being a small one to a moderate sized one.

WOW. That interview on Radio Lancashire really is quite something. Must admit that things sound really positive. Fingers crossed.

The only thing is do new owners want to bring in their own man or would they be as patient as our current board have always been with managers.

And another really upbeat interview with Derek Adams this morning on MFC website and on social media ahead of the Colchester game.

He talks at length about new interest in ownership, including from "afar, wanting a stake in English football" and why Morecambe FC would be a good investment and how small extra money would make a big difference.

In terms of new owners, my number one attribute is to attract an owner that values that we are a family club and wants to be a part of the family in a way that Bond Group haven't.

I don't object to ownership from afar so long as they are reliable and able to invest the money needed. So far as being part of 'the Morecambe" family I'd quite like someone who would leave the running to the Board. Show an interest in the club but don't interfere unless absolutely necessary.

OOOHHHH, you little tease!

"It has to be done [sold] within a six month period"

What does THAT mean? Not "I'd hope it is done..." or "we want it to be done..." or "I expect it to be done..." but "it has to be done..."

Is that because Derek knows how much investment he wants, in order to move the club forwards, as per his plan, and the time he wants before next season starts? Or, because he's out of contract at the end of the season, and if there isn't movement forwards, he may start to consider alternative options? Or, is that something that the current owners have indicated?

I'm enjoying the positive interviews, but there is still so much uncertainty.

As for the 'from afar' investors, I wonder if, having an excellent board, for the day-to-day running of the club, may actually make us more attractive to an overseas investor? They'd know they can be relatively hands-off from a distance, making the larger, strategic decisions, while leaving the board & management, to continue what they are doing so well? I also wonder if a prospective buyer has come in and said to Derek, "if I was to invest £X in the club, over the next five years, how would you see it going?" which is why Derek has his plan, 'written down'? Perhaps the overseas investor has given Bond Group six months to negotiate a sale, and that's another option as to why there is a time scale?

Interesting to hear the King say "when the new ownership comes in" rather than if.

Derek mentioned in one of the recent interviews that when he came in he saw Carlos Mendes Gomez in the reserves and turned him into a £500,000 player so we now know what fee we received from Luton for him.
